Let's not try to be different. Let's all conform and maybe the industry will grow of its own volition! /end sarcasm

Still, I think this jacket is not so much as to improve safety as to improve Nintendo's appearance; to make it seem like they're very concerned about your vase or tv or friend's eye. In reality, I'll bet it's to quell any growing ideas of lawsuits from us greedy Americans.

I'm still getting them. I love free stuff.

...simply because it is 'cool'. I don't like things that are popular; I want to have that device no one else has. I got a Zune a while ago and I love it. I'm sure if I had an iPod I would feel like I'm betraying myself. I don't want to be part of the iPod 'crowd' of people who are cool and people who wish they were cool. If you get an iPod for the functionality, I've no problem with that, though. However, I'm not sure why anyone would get the iPod for the functionality...

...because they both have shiny white surfaces. Except Apple ditched that, so I guess they're different again now.

The one blatant difference is that Nintendo doesn't overcharge for their brand name.

Like i said in the other article, that doesn't mean gapless. Lossless is a format, gapless is a playing style. Zune does not have gapless.

That doesn't mean gapless playback. And no, it does not. That's one of the only things Zune owners have asked to have and Microsoft hasn't delivered.

...so don't expect them to back out anytime soon. They've made progress in breaking down the Apple monopoly, and that's exactly what this market needs. You see, if Apple actually does ever gain an unbreakable grip on the market, then you're screwed, as are we all. You know what that's called? A monopoly. Monopoly=less choice for the consumer=easier for the company to totally screw you over. Just look at the iPhone update 1.1.1

Microsoft actually realizes this and had an entirely different branch working on the Zune (and the Xbox, for that matter). That way, they hoped it wouldn't get the kind of rep their OS does. For the me they succeeded (I hate windows, but I love my Zune). They would be more successful if they made it Mac-compatible, though.

The Zune group seems a bit more culty to me, actually. I mean, they're basically setting this thing up as a music player/social networking device. And, iPods 'exclusive'? Everybody and their neighbor has an iPod. The way I see it, iPod is for those who strive to be popular and accepted and Zune is for those people who want to be funky and different. That's even how the companies pimp their products; just look at www.zunearts.net.

iTunes isn't my thing. The syncing confuses me. Do you really have to sync all of your media again to add 1 song?

However, the Zune Marketplace is getting streamlined to work better with the device. Also, with Wirless Sync, you don't even have to plug the dang thing in anymore. Talk about win.

World of Warcraft???

Hollywood is so greedy. I bet they have no idea how stupid they look.

Eh, yeah, it was obvious really. I mean, if you know just half of Samus' abilities, she's already able to barely surpass MC. All of them and it's no contest.

It's not a fair fight, really, since Metroid has so much more sophisticated and unrealistic futuristic weapons. It also focuses on getting these weapons more than killing things with them, so they're bound to be pretty impressive. In Halo, you pick up a shotgun to kill something with it. In Metroid, you get a new beam...

@Rhezin
That would basically be just punching her metal suit, which would hurt and leave you vulnerable to close-range attacks.

@Dub
Really? I've never read that... not even in that translated Manga. Still, I wouldn't be surprised. She lives to be a warrior, and that's it.

Sure, the Zune80, Zune8 and Zune4 are nice, but I'm more excited about what they're doing for my old Zune30. Wireless syncing? More social integration? Podcast support (finally)? New marketplace (finally again)? TV recording (can't use anyway, actually)?

This is great. This IS comparable with even the iPod touch, because it has more memory (a WHOLE LOT more memory) for less, plus wifi sharing (the Zune's 'killer' feature). I mean, these are comparable to the new iPods, r...

Quite frankly, when people start spewing out 'Zune is so dumb' comments, the only question I have to ask is 'Why?'. That will usually stop them in their tracks.

Plus, though the article didn't say so, along with the new Zune 2's there will also be a firmware update to Zune 1's giving them the same features. Now, I would say Apple doesn't do this, but that is because the first 4 generations of iPods didn't really have any improvements to port to the old generations. If they d...

because I have one, one of the above commenters has one, two people in one of my classes have one, one of them has a sister that has one, a kid on my bus has one, the majority of ZuneScene forumgoers have one... I don't know this many people with iPods. Plus, in that one class, I can get new music every day from my friends. How cool is that?

Of course, this first version of Zune hasn't sold as well as iPods, which have been in the market for 6 GENERATIONS, so it obviously fa...

Never heard of it... My Zune works fine. In fact, I haven't heard of any Zunes malfunctioning... perhaps you're thinking of the Xbox?

And, rushing them out? They've had plenty of dev time. I'm interested to see what they've done.

I, for one, am excited. I don't care about the popularity of the item; I care about the features. Right now, Zune has more than it's competing-gen ipods. I bought one and I'm satisfied.

Plus: Compete with iTunes? iTunes works terribly for me.

Do you think the 360 will go sub $200, knowing that Microsoft will lose even more money per console than they are now? An interesting prediction, to say the least. Do you have evidence of the possible price drop? Unless it is present, I would say that it would be a bad market decision for Microsoft. Keep in mind, however, that Nintendo is MAKING money off each Wii sold, so they could drop it sub-200 and still not hurt their market much. In other words, if price was taken into account (wh...

I'm not really interested in PS3. None of the games catch my attention, or the ones that do are rated M and therefore I am neither allowed nor wish to play them. So, in short, you do not own the machine that everyone covets. I'm sorry.

Look who's talking. A fanboy is someone who refuses to consider someone else's opinion in favor of an undying, unwavering, unquestioning belief in their own. Considering your remarks, I would say you're a hypocrite.

The wonderful thing about me saying this is that you can't call me an Xbox fanboy. You know why? I don't own one, I don't like Halo and I'm not interested in defending Microsoft. I DON'T like listening to people like you.
