Identical!! This is how multi-platform titles should mirror each other. EA/Visceral Games Bravo!
IGN this is not PROFESSIONAL!!
Despite knowing that the God Of War franchise is second to none in it's genre, Stig Asmussen still has kind words. A true class act through and through. And as Belal stated "if you really are a gamer, you need to buy all of them :) Absolutely!
LOL - Hilarious!
That's what it's all about. Great post!
Not to discredit this interestingly thought out list however, by not listing KILLZONE 2 on this list is a grave error. I like how the list gives credit to some last gen games but not listing KILLZONE 2 really makes this list look pretty bad. Just a suggestion, what happened to games like:
Gear Of War 2
God Of War II
Ninja Gaiden (Xbox)
Devil May Cry (Original)
....Just to name a few. Again I agree with some games on the list but wow, no KILLZONE 2 is prett...
Special indeed! Great Post.
@ClownBelt
You make a great point. Even though I applaud TechBuffalo for their thorough console war video breakdowns, at the end of the day the media bar interface and functionality becomes a matter of preference. As well as the systems controllers.
No matter how you swing it TechBuffalo does a very thorough job of explaining the pros and cons for all their console war topics. It seems very clear all bias are laid aside and the more professional approach is extended in video breakdowns. A very reliable tech site.
Now that's very interesting. If GameSpot does not have MW2 nominated as a GOTY candidate then their obvious choice for shooter of the year would go to KILLZONE 2.
You bring up an interesting point. R2 did did offer a robust online experience. Of course I found KZ2 much more engaging and just more fun do to it's raw nature but there is no denying R2 does offer a sick online experience. A cooperative mode on KZ2 would've been remarkable so like many I am definitely expecting KZ3 to offer some form of co-op. My fingers are crossed.
It is totally understandable to like MW2 better than KZ2, it is definitely a matter of preference. We are all entitled to our opinions and yours is definitely respected. Great post!
@ Jijoro,
I really don't believe you ever played KZ2, seriously! The amount of depth which can be experienced in KZ2 is something you can't possibly experience in a day. KZ2 takes a lot of skill that most casual gamers are intimidated by. KZ2 is not your average jump in real quick and get 30 kills type of game. You have to put in work. Jijoro no offense but the tone of your HALO comparisons are uninformed and make you seem inexperienced. Play KZ2 for a week faithfully and then ...
You are definitely entitled to your opinion however, sometimes it does get out of hand when fanboys blantantly choose games over another just to remain loyal to a particular platform. It's truly disgusting! HALO 3 and GEARS is not an argument it's fanboy banter. MW2 is an argument that can holds it's own. You look inexperienced when you try to compare games like HALO 3 or anything GEARS OF WAR to KZ2 and that's not an opinion.
KZ2 winning Best Multiplayer is most deserving. In fact the VGA awards were almost comical with KZ2 not being nominated as a GOTY candidate. The total package makes it arguably the best FPS this gen.
Absolutely!!
It is going to be very hard to duplicate the bodaciousness of Kratos in any character however, sticking with a character who has more convictions than Kratos seems to be a smart move by Visceral Games. Dante's Inferno already feels and plays a lot like the God Of War series.
BRAVO!! Well said :-)
@ 1.17
I believe you said it best by stating that KILLZONE 2 is not a casual game. Even though both games are FPS titles, they are completely different in style, feel and gameplay. Most people can pick up a HALO title and find a form of enjoyment and immediate success where as KILLZONE 2 can be considered quite intimidating for the average FPS gamer. KILLZONE 2 is louder, heavier and literally more explosive. This no knock on any HALO title however it does take more skill to maste...
As someone mentioned earlier, Mr. Greenberg played his PR hand very well. Despite anti-360 enthusiasts flaming his statements which I would agree are quite bold, at this earlier stage of 2010 it is still anyone's ballgame. However, the platforms have an impressive 2010 line-up from a personal standpoint.
