Next gen consoles will have a party chat feature. Sony recently announced this. So "voiceless multiplayer" games are no longer a growing concern. We will have voice and text chat capabilities...whether the devs incorporate it into their games or not.

When CD manufacturers invented the 5 (multiple) disc CD changer, it wasn't a matter of laziness back then, either. People didn't wanna have to get up and swap out discs everytime one had finished playing. Technology evolves to accommodate convenience. It's that simple.
