Who are you exactly "Laughing your ass off at"? The PS3 is nowhere near powerful to emulate Windows XP AND modern PC games. Keep in mind the PS3 only has 256mb of memory. Furthermore, any PC game would have to run in software mode because (currently) nobody can get access to the RSX chip.
The only thing that this mod would be good for (game wise) would be for M.A.M.E. or low-level emulators.

Remember Sony is still losing their teeth (at least $180) on each ...

Discs of Tron not only used a spinner, but also a vertical "Push/Pull" controller and a trigger controller. As much as I would love to see DOT on the 360, I don't see how they are going to pull it off.

Nolan Bushnell was the driving force behind videogames becoming more than just a fad and without him I don't think videogames would be anywhere near as popular as they are today. Although he did not invent videogames, Ralph Baer did, he took a simple game (Pong) and parlayed that into the Atari 2600 with Time/Warner which was a success and he personally made $28 Million (in 1977 dollars). Bushnell stayed on with Atari till he left because Time/Warner was run by bean counters (look at how Pa...

As is stands right now, and for the immediate future, the PS3 is a money sucking machine. Sony did quite well financially recently however, Sony also had to borrow almost $800 million dollars (the first time ever in it's history) last year to pay for the PS3 launch. The good gains were solely because of Sony's OTHER divisions, not the PS3; that even includes PS2 sales.

Sony's t.v. sales have been a driving force, as well as Sony Pictures Studios films. Spiderman will most li...

Sony can use the massive cash infusion they will get from Spiderman 3 to pay for the PS3's immense losses till the end of the year. However, Sony pictures does not have any "tentpole" movies next year, so Sony's financial's will not be helped and the PS3 will have to stand on it's own two legs.

Even if ALL of the hot games for the PS3 came out right now (Lair, MGS4, etc.) would it be enough to boost PS3 sales? The PS3 now definitely costs $600 and realistically $700...

I love how this "programmer" goes on about how Valve, one of the best publishers in the game industry is so "behind the times," in regards to programming for SPUs, and the author goes on to say how great SPUs are, but then he adds at the end of the article, "I say fully working because most current games out there barely even touch on them, it will take time to re-write everything. I haven't done spu coding....yet. I will be though in 2007 which will be pretty cool.&q...

Personally, I would not be breaking out the champagne bottles just yet. Sony, at best, will pull out this fiscal year with a modest loss, thanks to Spiderman 3's already pre-ordained success. Let's not forget the extreme losses that Sony is taking on the PS3. The PS3 will not become profitable for some many years. Let's not also forget Sony took out a MASSIVE loan this past year to pay for the PS3; the first time in it's history.

What is your definition of "Soon," December 31st, 2007?

There is no way that the PS3 is going to drop $100 this year, there is no precedent for that in the history of videogames, with the possible exception of the 3D0. Even with the design improvements that are in the pipe, there is no way they will be able to shave off $100 off of manufacturing costs in LESS than a year from launch.

Besides, Sony will appear weak if they cut the price and honestly, will it boost sales that dramatically? Don't forget, Sony has Spiderman coming o...

Half Life 2 has pretty damn good voice match move making on the fly and Crysis looks like it has even better. The 360 and PS3 can do accurate VMM, it's just up to the developers to properly implement it.

So how many 360's did you sell? You (previously) said you sold 360 (prior to) march 28th and then you sold your 360 again yesterday. Did you really ever even own a 360?

I am sick of these off the cuff, weekly sales figures. The videogame industry is not the same as the movies. Weekly drops in the movie business are tracked because it's important today because so many movies are so very crappy and there is so much competition from all other avenues.

Really, unless you own Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft stock, or are a retailer, the amount of sales of each system and game, is meaningless data to the consumer. Since when do gamers buy a game because ...

NikV3, are you 12 years old? You are like a child that wanders into the middle of a conversation with no frame of reference.

The PS2 has sold 111 Million units as of last month, NOT 200 Million as you so incorrectly stated.

The Xbox sold roughly THE SAME EXACT amount by March 2006 that the PS3 has sold by March 2007. The exact amount is 360=3.19 Million Vs. PS3 3.07 Million. This is regarded to be a PUSH. I give the PS3 kudos for selling the same amount as th...

NikV3 did you read the farking article? I seriously doubt that "QJ.net" has it's facts straight seeing that it used such a misleading title. The article actually says that the PS3 is the fastest selling console in the history of U.K. not in the history of Europe. Also, WHO CARES?! The PS3 was expected to sell out in Europe, the real test will come in this later year; will it continue to sell at $850? Besides "history" is relative. There are 2.5 BILLION more people on thi...

Adjusted for inflation the Intellivision and the Atari 5200 were the most expensive game systems of all time. Adjusted for inflation they cost about $950. The Atari 2600, one of the most popular game systems ever, cost about $700 in 1978 dollars. I know, I was there. :) Also, in regards to the prices of games, they ALL cost $50, ALWAYS and forever. To those whiners who complain about $70-$100 games- FU, we paid through the nose for really crappy games and had no way to rent them to try t...

The article is wrong and misleading. The Wii sold out instantly, not a days, or a week, or weeks, but WHAMMO, all gone instantly and it's still that way. The PS3 is FAR from sold out in Europe. I wish Nintendo would get on the ball and release the already made (waiting for the new fiscal year, as of today) Wiis and shut up the PS3 fanbois for good. I am NOT a Nintendo fanboi, I own a PS3 and a 360 and will buy a Wii when I can find one, but I am sick and tired of Sony and their fanbois co...

Although Nintendo vehemently denied that they were "holding out" on the Wiis, it now is so very obvious that they were indeed holding out all along, as they made their numbers for last year.

Cross platform is where the money is at. Publishers see that the PS3 is most certainly NOT going to be number one this time around and are adjusting their releases appropriately. Why spend the extra money including the extra content, or optimizing all the nooks and crannies in the PS3 version when the price is going to be the same as all of the other versions? The PS3 has a storage advantage, but don't forget, that storage advantage is limited by the ram deficiency.

My two best friends, hardcore gamers since 1978, were there as I first hooked up my PS3 and starting play RFOM. They spent most of their time laughing at how bad the game was. To me, it was like playing "Call of Duty" with aliens. This game has been seriously overrated. Yes, the Multiplayer is fun till you realize that it's like playing Quake II from like 10 years ago; no real strategy, just kill, respawn, rinse repeat. I got Untold Legends and whereas it's cool, it's not $600 ...

The game and game system that should be made into a movie is definitely Warhammer 40k. Starcraft owes everything to Warhammer 40k.
