You mean 2010, when Kinect launched and the core exclusive lineup dried up almost entirely? Sony released more core exclusives in 2013 than Microsoft did in the 3 years leading up to the launch of the next gen systems, combined.
Anybody who says an Xbox is a good longterm investment has either stockpiled enough forgiveness to last until Skynet, or wasn't old enough to remember or even experience the last two console generations.

EA Hatred is not exclusive to Wii U, it's multiplatform.
Let me tell you something about patents. As recently as 1 week ago, the US supreme court ruled that software patents can't be vague anymore. Previously, utilizing a few keywords, one could file a very vague and generic patent that encompasses a very broad area. Like what Microsoft is using to bully Android device manufacturers with: "The way a web page is loaded in a browser" and other equally nonsensical BS.
I once read IBM had a patent for a black whole genera...

This interview is dated 1 day after last years PS4 reveal... in February. And it states they didn't plan always online or DRM.
Sony revealed the PS4 3 months before Microsoft had their infamous TV, TV, TV, Sports, TV event. And as you can read in the interview above, again, 3 months before the public even...
const bool E3_GRAPHICS = true;
Compiler error: Can not convert constant boolean E3_GRAPHICS into promises of rainbows and unicorns!
Exactly. Their PlanetSide 2 team has been very busy porting and optimizing the game like crazy, so they will benefit from all the work they are doing once they start the port. They will have to optimize their end of things as well, but porting the game itself by then will be a matter of weeks.
Quantic Dream released Fahrenheit on XBox and PC alongside PS2. They have been exclusive to Sony ever since. I didn't check but I think they are still not owned by Sony outright. Instead have an exclusive contract.
Hello Games could very well become one of Sonys studios. Right now they aren't worth very much, so Sony could snack them up for very cheap and grow the studio from there. The guys are clearly incredibly talented and are the textbook example of why indies ar...
Disagrees on this site are being used as downvotes, nothing more. How does nobody realize this? People hit the disagree button the same way they would hit a downvote button on Reddit or somewhere else. If someone doesn't like what you said, whatever it was, they will "downvote" you, or on this site, disagree with you. It's that simple.
Yeah it's either not implemented or the person playing didn't use it. Either way it looked like a one armed pirates parrot was playing this.
Think about that for a second. You stream a game over the internet to your console, only to stream it from your console to your handheld? Streamception?
They are currently streaming a ton of behind the scenes stuff. They are touring the office and show what people are working on. A lot of what is being shown is pretty early days and people who agree with the comments above will probably not like what they show, but I really appreciate the look behind the curtain. They really go in depth about game development, at least heaps more in depth than I've ever seen a developer show.

This has nothing to do with being naive. You are misinformed on what open source means. Your opinion on the subject was most likely formed after reading a few things about heartbleed. Heartbleed was bad, very bad, but open source is still king when it comes to security, there is not even a comparison.
Last I checked the most secure OS on the planet is open source.
Open source applications work the exact same way closed source apps do, there is literally no di...
Eh, huh? Just because the platform is open source doesn't mean everything running on that platform is open source as well.
Android is open source, is everything on Android open source now, too?
@truefan, PowerOfGreen and the like
Guys, stop it, just stop it. It's not cute anymore it's just sad.
On one hand, I have MP3 support in my car, my phone, my TV, my handheld, my PC... so how hard can it be to add MP3 support? On the other hand, I have MP3 support in my car, my phone, my TV, my handheld, my PC... so who the F cares?
@Septic
Molyneux should be a lesson to everyone on N4G. He was forced to tout it as a gaming revolution and the XBox fanboys already had their spoons ready to stuff their faces with false promises.
He is no longer working at Microsoft so he is allowed to speak the truth about it, which he is doing. And now, what other execs are serving up promises and having fanboys choke on them? Yeah, go figure.
Well, you didn't read my comment. Else you would've noticed the reason for me wanting DirectX to go. DirectX is only available on Windows OS's, where as I would rather game on Linux. With DirectX there is no way for developers to support MacOS and Linux, just Windows, with OpenGL and Mantle (in the future), porting games to these platforms is trivial.
But yeah, why not bring fanboyism into this topic...
Actually Mantle will support Nvidia/Intel in the future. AMD stated that once they reach their development goal, they are going to open-source the API and hand the rights off to a 3rd party, who will then add support for the other vendors.
DirectX needs to just drop dead so something else can take it's place. Be it OpenGL or Mantle, I don't really care. All I want is cross platform game releases and DirectX is in the way of that.
I hope Valve will be successful with their Steam Boxes, so that OpenGL+SDL takes a sizeable lead.
This, this and more of this.
