Ok kids, hold all your debate about which system will be the winner until when the systems are all on their feet. All the fans buy up the systems first, the question is which system will appeal to the larger market.
Most consumers are not informed and do not want to spent a lot of money for a game system. Tonight I had a customer seriously ask me if the 360 and PS3 will only work on HD tvs. A lot of customers when asking about the PS3 (besides getting shocked by the price)thin...
consumers don't think it's dead. I still sell the hell out of the GBA. Even when I tell them the DS plays GBA games, they still want it. It's cheaper, and good for real young kids.
love the whole "gateway" system quote.
ok kids, stop fighting over who has the shinier toy.
yeah, Goldeneye on Live arcade with online play would be sweet. It would be nice if nintendo on some of their virtual console games would include online for, but highly highly doubtful. Like the original smash bros and Mario Kart SNES and N64
I can attest to the PSP actually selling now. no longer are they clogging up my shelf space. But at least where I work, I sell 1 PSP for every 20-30 DS's I sell.
HD PPV movies are about the same price.
i doubt they will add online features for it, but it will be on there eventually.
why are you kids whining about who's toy is better than the others? Just enjoy what you can get and stop whining about who prefers which corporate master.
wow, now that guy was a loser. Hmmm a video game system that you can just wait and get in a few months after all the hype dies down, or a bunch of Porn Star Quality sex and being taken there by the living legend that is Ron Jeremy.
it's called smart business. Sony is getting all this free publicity by all the morning shows and local news, hell even CNN showing off the system and the lines (also the inflated ebay prices). Microsoft needs to keep the Xbox brand name out there.
it won't work on the people who got it this morning since they all sold their units on ebay! At toysrus, every unit we sold will probably go on there, didn't sell anything extra, no software no extra controllers.
i didn't like the demo. didn't play smoothly and on the 720p lcd monitor on the display at target the players had a weird outline around them.
Who cares, I'm loving Gears of War right now but I'd jump at a chance to play Resistence, even though I wouldn't buy a PS3 for a while. ALL you fan boys need to just calm down and stop pledging yourselves to corporate masters.
it's just upselling. Sony wants the people to walk out of the store with more than just the 600 dollar system and a game. They want them to buy the HD cables, controllers, chargers. it's all about the Add-on's for everyone, retailers heavily push it since they make more profit on the accessories than the systems in terms of mark up from cost.
seriously, who doesn't already have a DVD player? I have 6 devices in my house that can play dvds.
agree with you. The Wii has a killer launch line up.
The PS3's launch line up is questionable, they have Resistence which looks sweet and is getting good feed back. But everything else is either crappy exclusives (Gengi) or multiplatform stuff.
Right now the 360 is doing good with some great titles, Dead Rising, Gears of War, Saints Row and the cross platform stuff and library.
Next year is going to be the year to watch though. All the companies w...
Insomniac makes some good games, loved the Ratchet games. I wanna give this game a try. Won't be buying a PS3 for a LONG time. It's good to see games like this out on the market, with new interesting story lines (love alternate histories).
But for now i'll stick to the 360.
nothing offensive about it if it's in the heat of the moment.
i could really careless at this point since my HD doesn't support 1080p. good to know both systems support it. At least the high end 360 comes with the proper cables for HD support....
yeah, an Imperial Commando game would be sweet
