It's the remake of the remaster of the remaster that I'm interested in
How are the load times?
@TheRealTedCruz
I understand where you're coming from but don't forget that GT7 is built on the GT Sport engine, with a few bells and whistles for PS5. Ultimately though, it's still built on a 5 year old engine.
And that PS5 version is ultimately built on a last gen engine. Even the DF analysis said that although GT7 does look very impressive you can still see the old GT Sport engine under the hood. Makes sense since it's a cross gen title but I'm expecting the next GT to be built from the ground up. Though I doubt it'll be a PS5 game
Not really. GT7 is a very good game in its own right. Nostalgia has nothing to do with it
Does it? That's nice.
Why would you not want to play it the way it was intended though?
That's the thing though, Elden Ring isn't "incredibly hard". It's challenging, sure but the essence of the game is that it redefines how you approach open world games. Lowering the difficulty and reducing the grind fundamental changes the game, for the worse. It no longer represents the vision of the devs the sense of achievement from finally felling a boss that has kicked your arse countless times has now been removed.
I get that it's only a mod ...
And also removes the essence of what makes the game what it is
My first introduction to SoulsBorne games was the remake of Demon's Souls on PS5 and from the very first step into Boletaria and the killing of the first boss I could instantly see the appeal. Don't get me wrong I've hit a brick wall in DS right now and I may well never finish it but I've had such a good time. Same goes for Elden Ring. It's still very hard but the fact that you can go where you like is the big plus for me. If I'm struggling with a boss then I'll ju...
No likey
Elden Ring is a masterclass in open world design. Love it.
If Sony wanted to kill Japanese games why did they dedicate a State of Play to them?
Elden Ring is bloody amazing in spite of performance issues. I am enjoying it far more than I expected to. Dived in again yesterday after a week break since getting GT7, I completely get why people are obsessed with this game.
"Try Finger. But Hole"
GT7 and Elden Ring are both fantastic games but GT7 is definitely get the bulk of my time right now.
I have physical copies of both. I'm not into buying digital until I really have to, I just don't see the value in it
But all of those can be turned off. Don't like the auto brake? Switch it off then, likewise the racing line, ABS, fuel consumption. Pretty much every aspect of the game can be tweaked in some way so the "annoying hand holding" really isn't a valid criticism. They're they're for those that want assistance but by no means are they forced
And those dated controls he talked about are the same as practically any other racer out there. Also no mention that the game has a lot of ways to customise those controls if you want to. But hey, they're dated.
I couldn't care less what scores the game gets. I think it's brilliant and that's all that matters.
Yup. It's of course good for the companies but it's not good for the consumer
