Seems to be up and running now, at least for me it is.
Having similar issue after update. Elden Ring starts in offline mode because it can't verify PS+ status.
Sony O Sony what are you doing? First GT7 and now this?! Maybe they're going to add microtransactions to play online even though you already have PS+ 😂😂
I'm in England BTW, in case this is a regional thing.
While I think Sony have been underhanded in lowering the payouts and adding microtransactions into GT7 in the first place, you don't actually HAVE to use real money to buy anything in the game, it's all obtainable through playing. Sure you do have to grind but if you have the time and patience you don't have to spend any additional money at all.
I'm more concerned with the fact that you absolutely HAVE to be online the whole time, even when playing single ...
I got mostly bronze on my S licence ☹️
I'm not that good but I'm going to actually play the game to earn my credits and buy the cars I want. I'm not resorting to cheats or MT'S because there's just no sense of achievement in that.
Well that'll teach Sony won't it? Spend £70 on the game and then don't technically play it.
I get that it's a kind of protest against the MT'S but still why spend money on a game you're not actually playing? Just doesn't seem to make a lot of sense, since you don't actually HAVE to spend even a single penny of real money on in game MT's
It's actually pretty decent on PS5. The DualSense implementation was a bit of a surprise. It's not a game changer but it's a nice addition nonetheless. Also the 3D audio is good too
Yes, but things do go wrong and GT7 highlighted this very well only a few days ago. It's not right that you lose the vast majority of the functionality of a game when the servers go down. Especially when you've paid £70 for the privilege. A patch and being wholly reliant on servers for your game are 2 different things
No
GT7 is quality but unless Polyphony change their approach to how single player works it might be the last GT I buy. Not being able to play single player when the servers go down is not on, tbh.
I don't like MT being in a full price game either but at least here it's not actually needed, but I'd rather not see it at all. The fact that the game cost £65 and then they expect you to spend even more real money to buy in game credits is shocking.
Nah he meant exactly what he said. This is a game that does not need microtransactions at all, it cheapen the experience. I know they're optional but to my mind they have no place in a full price game.
I bought Elden Ring as well as GT7. There's room in this world for both games.
Yeah I didn't see the logic there either. By reducing the payouts, surely that means you have to grind even more?
How do you pre order something that is already out?
I quite like it
I genuinely can't see any difference between the performance and performance rt modes. That's not to say it doesn't look good because it does, but I just can't see any real differences.
Dualsense support is a nice bonus though
I'm having loads of fun again on the PS5 version but is it only me that can't tell the difference between the performance and performance rt modes?
"I would like to have users enjoy lots of cars and races even without microtransactions"
EVEN without? How about ESPECIALLY without microtransactions? There's absolutely no place at all for MTs when you're expecting someone to pay £70 for the game in the first place! Is this man on another planet or something?
Oh and while we're at it, it might be nice to address the always online thing for single player. This statement was a ...
Well it's up and running again after more than 24 hours and what do we get for the wait? Nothing, sweet FA.
Oh, sorry, we get a note from Kaz trying to justify why they nerfed the payouts and the reason for the server issue.
Thanks a lot. This will be the last GT game I pre order. I'll wait until after launch next time. This has definitely killed off some of my enthusiasm for the game.
At the very least they need to offer some serious rewards in game once they get it running. They also need to make it so this never happens again. Single player shouldn't be dependant on servers to play. So disappointing.
I won't sell it, but this mess really has put a huge stain on the Gran Turismo name now.
For £8 yes. There's enough quality of life improvements to make it worth another visit. On PS5 specifically you have DualSense and 3D audio support. Along with the 60fps modes on PS5 and Series X. Also let's not forget those faster load times. For a game that's approaching 9 years old it still looks remarkably good.
