@sd11 Exactly and a powerful expensive CPU (i5 or i7).
A Mechassault using the Crackdown 3 tech would be awesome.
@Battleaxe Unreal and Cryengine software licenses are not free once you start selling your game( the engine holders get paid a licensing fee). New graphics engines have simply made doing complex things easier. Devs still have to create their own assests for new games.
None of these 'journalist' use common sense. Look the cost of a 4K capable PC and then look at the ideal prices for a console. A 4K PC is several times the price of a console.
A 'PS4.5' should have the same specs as the original PS4, but run cooler (and quiter) and potentially come with a solid state drive. This would improve the console without spliting the user base and not force devs to configure their games for two separate models.
I think the consoles problem, that three years later it is still negatively affected by Don Mattrick's vision and media biased. Phil Spencer had to spend over a year digging the console out of a PR hole, things are turning around, but old negative PR and recent PR issues still linger. MS could invest more into first party titles, especially since they are focused on Windows 10 gaming in addition to Xbox One.
The lower number of exclusives is caused by the higher costs of producing games, not the hardware. As consoles became more powerful, the graphics increased in complexity and games required more resources (and staff) to create as consumer standards increased.
I am pretty sure an actual benchmark test was done two years ago. This article stated specs and didn't really show any real-world performance benchmarks (hence the lack of graphs). The only thing tested in performance was 1080p (this article is by gamingbolt lol)
I am aware of that, but Beyond Good and Evil 2 was essentially vaporware until recently, much like the enigmatic Half-life 3.
I beat Ninja Gaiden Black on hard back in the day, hardest game I ever beat. I tried to beat the tower but didn't have the endurance, plus I threw a controller lol. Kevin Lobb and Phil Spencer hinted at a new Perfect Dark several times, but never confirmed development, but rather strong interest in the IP.
My Personal Picks
Sequels : Conker's bad fur day , Beyond Good and Evil , Oddworld Stranger's Wrath
Reboot:Perfect Dark, Ninja Gaiden, Mechassault
Impractical gimmick
Unfornately, since this is Nintendo, the word 'innovate' is far too often associated with 'impractical gimmick'.
@Garethvk Still wouldn't buy, combat is simplistic, dull and imbalanced. By 2017 I think there will be a new Battlefront with a different era (clone wars). I don't think EA will launch another battlefront in 2016, since they might be releasing new Titanfall and Battlefield games this year.
They needed to stretch out the DLC lol; Chewbacca and IG-88 would of been logical choices. Glad I didn't buy this game.
4K? ...lol, No ! A 4K GPU cost more than Xbox One and PS4. 4K GPUs are also huge and require a large amount of power. 4K GPUs needs to be paired withs high end i5 or i7 processors, which aren't cheap either. Plus 4K setups have super fast RAM and a strong system bus. None of the PS4/XB1 components are comparable to what is required for 4K gaming.
I hope this is fake; but Nintendo does work in mysterious ways....Why can't this company stick to one controller design? Look at MS/Sony, both brands have used the same controller templates for over a decade. Nintendo as a company tries to innovate, yet frequently does things in an illogical manner.
Bought this collection launch week and I'm still getting gameplay out of it.
My opinion (worst to best )
-God of War
-God of War:Ascension
-God of War:Chains of Olympus
-God of war III
-God of War II
-God of War: Ghost of Sparta
@The_Infected You hate Xbox, yet I have seen comment first on several Gears 4 and Quantum Break articles.
@Masterfox So does the PS4.
