The Kinect and OS reductions could be done to the old model as well.
I was expecting a new crash as soon as I heard the music.
@garrett I think price will separate the two models sharply. I wouldn't be surprised if the Scorpio was 600 to 700 dollars. Also the two models will confuse the less informed.
I have no desire to upgrade either my XB1 or PS4; both consoles are only two years old. I would rather more been invested into games by (especially MS), rather than hardware. The console were selling fine, but people overstated 4K.
The cost of upgrading to 4K is too much for m...
The Scorpio is likely their VR console.
Postives
- God of War 4 gameplay (favorite game of the show )
- Horizon: Zero Dawn gameplay ( My feelings for this game are somewhat mixed)
- Lots of new titles shown and announced.
-Release date for Last Guardian (if it interest you)
-No try hard behavior, e.g no swearing to be hype like last year.
- No chessey music
Negatives
-Lots of announced games had no release dates, some were CGI and likely 1-2 years a...
@ImGumbyDammit I hope their are at least 2- 3 unannounced games at Gamescon.
@PistolsAtDawn
Good E3 conferences, show games and don't anchor themselves around hardware, one the Xbox One S offers nothing for me. The Xbox "Code name Scorpio is over a year away, and based on the specs, I probably won't be able to afford it, and I really don't know the capabilities of the machine either. Does it just play games in 4k with the same graphics and framerate as the vanilla Xbox One or does it offer higher frame rates and better graphics . 6 teraflo...
Yup, it was on stage forever and the game literally sells itself.
@Kyosuke_Sanada I think a Phantom Dust remaster, might be the right way to reintroduce the franchise, few people played the original and it's been dormant for over a decade. Also why in the hell wasn't this shown on stage !
That is not an MS IP, they have no control over that franchise.
The original Xbox One is a BBC, big black console lol.
I'm the worst kind of gamer? I beat over a dozen games every year on multiple platforms. I give constructive criticism and I don't sugar coat for any console, developer, publisher or game. Nor do I troll like the rabid deluded gamers that think MS or Sony loves them.
You would have to be a deluded fanboy to think this show was impressive. I've been an Xbox Owner since 2002. This is the worst show they have had since the 2013 blunder. I personally don't like the direction Phil is taking the division either. It promising old IPS, yet I don't see the games he teases, ever !
Positives
- Xbox One S looks cool, affordable, Scorpio announcement might damage it's potential sales performance.
- Customization of Controller colors
-Scalebound looks good (I will likely hate the lead character)
-Gears of War 4 looks good, deceptive marketing (was XB1 only during the beta)
-ReCore looks good but crappy pop music in trailer
- Forza Horizon 3 and Dead Rising looks good for fans of the series

The Xbox One S supports 4k video playback and streaming. The Xbox One scorpio however is too do 4k graphics and support VR. The problem is are the graphics of the two consoles the same, with one rendering a 4k and the other doing 720-1080p? Or is the new console going to give the option for better framerates and better graphics at 1080p?
This is MS's worst E3 since 2013, Gwent, Tekken, Battlefeld 1 and Dead Rising getting so much stage time over actual first party content. No new first party games announced, everything is on Windows 10! I played the Gears 4 beta a few months ago and it was marketed as Xbox One only, and now it's on PC? Isn't that false marketing ? Announcing a slim console and new console. I just bought an XB1 two years ago and new one is coming out after only 4 years!
@SenorFartCushion I certain only a small percentage of gaming PC play at 4k, most don't even play at 1080p according to stem. Also I wonder how many people actually have 4k tvs. I don't anyone that has one. I am also skeptical if VR will become a staple or just a fad like motion controls.
A Scorpio and Neo would still be behind a top end PC, consoles were successful due to ease of use and optimization not brute power.
I think the main reason for the Xbox Scorpio and PS neo is to run games with equivalent settings to the base line models except in 4k and provide stable VR support. However, you could easily use the power advantage of the new hardware, to improve the graphics and potentially double the framerate by running the game at 1080p. A person on an XB1 vanilla/ slim could have a game running at 1080p 30fps, while the Scorpio user could play the same game at 1080p 60fps! This could cause issues with mu...
There seems to be no physical Xbox One version in Canada :( .
