For me it’s
1. Bloodborne - The first Soulborne title I played. I feel that playing Bloodborne changed my appreciation of game design and difficulty.
2. Dark Souls 3
3. Dark Souls
4. Elden Ring
5. Demon Souls (inferred from playing the Remake)
6. Dark Souls 2
Frankly, I don’t like Sekiro and never finished. I couldn’t stand the game’s focus on parrying. I killed many bosses in Sekiro, but didn’t enjoy any ...
If WoW were to be put into gamepass, only the basic version of the title would likely be made available.
Disney has the money to invest into large scale game studios. However, Disney has so many high valuable IPs (Marvel, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Mickey, etc.) that can be licensed, the company really has no need to internally develop games.
The Xbox Series console don’t run an actual port of the game. The consoles emulate and enhance the 360 version of RDR. The Series S and X could possibly use FPS boost to run RDR at 60 FPS with patching.
Mortal Kombat 1, is also well optimized if you ignore the Switch version.
It rare that we see a game so well optimized across two systems and three consoles specifications.
I’m surprised Gears 6 hasn’t been announced by the Coalition as of yet. Gears 5 released 4 years and the Coalitions hasn’t another AAA title since then, excluding the co-developed Gears Tactics.
Marketing is being cut simply because Amazon will market the next Tomb Raider title, while Microsoft will market Perfect Dark. Crystal Dynamics will probably be fine due to development contracts with Amazon and a Microsoft. Unfortunately, I can’t say that rest of Embracer Group has any long-term stability.
I remember RockStar developers explicitly stating that the Switch could not run RDR2. Rockstar are generally good at utilizing and pushing hardware. Rockstar not attempting RDR2 on the Switch was enough to prove the system wasn’t in the same power ballpark as the XB1 and PS4.
The Switch isn’t even .5 teraflops. https://thegamingsetup.com/...
Apple, Netflix, Sony and Microsoft are way larger than Unity. They could all likely drop Unity titles from their subscription services without heavy negative impacts.
Embracer has more studios than Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo combined. However, Embracer generates less revenue per year than a mid sized game company (e.g. Namco-Bandai, Ubisoft, etc.). Embracer is trying to sell Gearbox for a profit to offset low revenue and decreased investor funding.
Starfield is only on 2 platforms instead of Fallout 4’s 3. It will be interesting how Gamepass and Xbox console exclusivity affects Starfield’s sales. Starfield PC sengagement and sales could be stronger than Fallout 4’s, due to more quickly implemented mod support.
Young Kratos seems more powerful than his future counterpart. Kratos mentions losing some of his previous powers from the Greek-saga in Ragnarok. However, some Santa Monica developers have stated that Old Kratos is stronger than his younger self.
Redfall will likely not have the same level of long-term of support as Fallout 76. I doubt Redfall is popular enough to warrant several years of support and updates.
The Embracer Group stated it would be closing studios and canceling games. Due to how bloated Embracer Group is and it’s rather low revenue relative to its size, several more of its studios in addition to Volition will be closed.
Gamepass isn’t particularly expensive at it’s regular price, the standard pricing is in line with other game and streaming subscriptions. The Xbox division and it’s studios have to make money, lol. Gamers are not entitled to what is essentially “free” games.
I’m not a fan of Zack Synder’s movie. If he were announced the director for a Gears of War film, I would not be hyped. I find Synder to be similar to J.J. Abrams, you have to shut half your brain off to enjoy their movies.
Embracer has over 125 studios and over 15,000 employees. The company has more studios than Sony, MS and Nintendo put together, yet it never once generated enough revenue to crack the top game companies in terms of revenue ( https://www.alltopeverythin... Company of Embracer’s size isn’t sustainable, especially when it’s out performed by much smaller companies (EA, Take-Two, Ubisoft and Banda...
