Maybe , maybe not. I have allways been more of a Sony person since the ps2.
However, all it takes is one or 2 very bad design/marketing choices and you're back at the bottom. Look at Nintendo...
Sony has the better hardware and it even has more games that are of interest to me, however Sony PSN is not that great and some of us still remembers Sony's rootkits, etc...
Not sure if the gap will increase in 2015, but on long term I do see ps4 gaining momentum over the XBone. As the ps4 has outsold the XBone ( in some regions by a great margin ) it should also be able sell more games. Thus more developers would prefer the ps4... Which means more games.

There is a market for this. Emulation is a good option, but there are those that want the original physical games.
It would stand to reason that those people would also want to own the orignal consoles, however not everyone likes having several consoles around ( and the cable clutter that comes with that )and a lot of the older NES and snes have age-related problems. Controllers break down, etc.

Nah, The Japanese just don't have any real reason to buy a ps4 yet. My guess is that this will turn around as soon as FF XV and such will appear.

I bought my Vita before i bought a 3DS ( Don't really like the 3DS screens, but it just has a bunch of awesome games that are not available on the vita, like Bravely Default, Fire emblem, SMT Devil Survivor , etc.

I personally found Star Craft 2 a bit disappointing too.
Part of it is my own problem. Played the original a lot on lans where I thought i pretty much owned. It is hard reality when you're getting older and slower and the players around you are just a lot better at micro.
but there are also the bugs. ( direct X sound/graphic driver crashes ), lack of being able to boot players from lobbies, etc, etc

Bravely Default is a very good title on its own though. Characters are not great that much is true.
However the graphics are stunning. ( yes even on a 3DS XL screen , but graphics are more than just resolution ) . The combat system is great too.
It kept me occupied for allmost 100 hours.
I'd give this game a 9.

In most of Europe the ps4 will outsell the Xbox One. ( perhaps with the exception of the UK ? )
As for Japan: given the sales of the 360, it is a fairly easy assumption that the ps4 will outsell the XBone
I decided to wait a while with purchasing a ps4 , as I have more than enough games for the ps3 and for the 3DS/Vita.
The ps4 game library is quite small , which is logical given the console's age.
It will pick up soon enough, but I will only buy one after either a price drop or when a must-play game will be released for that platform :)
Well it's all about which title is exclusive, not the quantity. For example: FFXV and Persona 5 will attract a lot of attention, while many of the indi pc titles will not ( regardless of the quality of these games ).
