It's as charming as the movie is. I enjoy it solo, but undoubtedly it's way more fun with my kids.
What? It always throws me for a loop when I see these bizarre mini games attached to a seemingly unrelated genre. That said, I played the hell out of Yakuza's hostess mini games.
Oh because by "Western" I should automatically assume @InMyOpinion means Europe? Rather ambiguous vernacular there...and a rather blatantly jackass reply from you as well @GEO9875
Nina Gaiden has always been Ninja Gaiden. Perhaps you're thinking of SEGA's Shinobi and its second release in the series, Shadow Dancer?
One game, a system killer, can never be. This looks great, but I'm sorry...it will be nothing more than a pebble's ripple in a still pond.
I would agree. Yakuza 5 is amazing. Each iteration of this series has been great and, while some don't really advance they gameplay, they're always written well and retain their relevance in the grand scheme of the story. The only questionable release would be Yakuza of the Dead, but that was never intended to be taken seriously...it was simply fun!
I really hope ATLUS confirms this for NA and other non-Asian regions. I'm confident EU would love to have this as well.
Assassin's Creed owes its core gameplay to Thief...so is it a ripoff as well?
Frankly, I saw overtones of Assassin's Creed, Darksiders, and Soul Reaver here. Is that a ripoff? I wouldn't say so. Inspired? Certainly so, but that doesn't make it a bad game. Everything I see seems to meld aspects of quite a few games I enjoy/ed playing. If I can get more of that, sidestepping the faults of each of those franchises while highlighting their strengths, well, I'm...
You think Sony is sitting idly by allowing not only their IP's to be used, but to be destroyed? I doubt it.
We have Heavenly Sword, Ratchet & Clank, and now Sly on the books. I'd almost guarantee Sony isn't done doling out the licenses on these.
That's his voice...has been for the last 5 games (which includes the Bentley spinoff).
So Sony doles out their licences and we have a Heavenly Sword, Ratchet & Clank, and now a Sly Cooper movie in the works...meanwhile Nintendo is so locked tight that we'll likely never see another film based on their franchises.
Nintendo, you want to make money? Give some CG studio the library rights to Kid Icarus, Metroid, Zelda, Mario and more. I'm giddy with excitement for these upcoming Sony-owned IP films and I've only been in love with them for somewhere ...
I saw hints of Assassin's Creed, Darksiders, and Soul Reaver. Not sure that means it was ripped...certainly inspired, but what isn't these days?
I was doing this in Sly before Assasin's Creed.
Just a guess, and although I'd love for it to be a simple case of supply/demand, the Japanese launch comes to mind. I imagine they're shifting production, albeit temporarily, to support next month's launch of the PS4 in their home territory.
Call me crazy.
Everyone spouting out the pessimism against Aliens needs to just calm down. You can't debate facts, which is all they've done.
The last Resident Evil that made me nervous...not even scared, was Resident Evil Code Veronica. On the Dead Space side, the problem with DS is that they used classic carnival Haunted House tricks. What's lying around that corner...what's waiting for me in that shadow. It grew too predictable and subsequent releases sidestepped these mo...
Considering the sheer volume of lore present, I'm uncertain how it couldn't feel like a Killzone game.
If you're simply speaking to cjflora's point above, in that we don't really feel a connection to Kellen as a character, I think that's intentional.
To me, this entire game is presented in such a way, ambiguously I might add, to have you question if you're truly a hero...or on the wrong side of the battle. I think they kept things ...
I actually quite enjoyed the campaign. While trying to keep from spoiling this entry, it certainly made me question if I was on the right side of this battle. Not because of a great story, but well written characters.
What I wouldn't give for GamingHeads to give me an Echo statue.
I'm a fan of videogames. I simply prefer the offerings on my PlayStation platform. To say that "Xbox fans" will be jumping all over this as a great thing is extremely short-sighted. I'm happy the recently unemployed seem to have job opportunities lined up, wherever it leads them.
