...having both versions, my PS3 copy seems to run a whole mess more smoothly. Not sure but the framerate drops on the 360 seem nonexistant here.
Anyhow, shame we may not see such a small append to the overall game. I would love to be able to reset the enemies and spawn frequency, and just explore some more...
EDIT:
A disagree...on a comment that's steeped in nothing more than hope? WOW! We have sunk to a new low.
I can generally see the points you make in various posts but honestly...
"MS and Sony would only help these kind of companies IF the title has worked for them before OR the title is highly known ( just like FF going to the 360)."
Microsoft aided Square with marketing in FFXI despite the fact no Square title had ever hit their console. That's a chance transaction. Same was done for Microsoft and Gears. I don't think Unreal ever saw stellar sales on the or...
Had it released WITH the launch or soon thereafter...no. Here we are, MONTHS past the release and I've already moved on. There are far too many released coming out in the next few months to even give this a second thought. Too little, too late...but I bet we'll see Major Nelson or some other top-exec spouting about how it's a defining moment for the platform AND how it has increased sales of the game MONTHS after its release.
I think you need to look at WHERE the cancellations are, not just how many titles. Fatal Frame certainly wasn't cancelled...in JPN and EUR. But where is the NA release? How about Disaster? What's going on with that? Doesn't sound to reassuring that NOA has no interest in the project at this time...and if not, what is the right time for this project? Ever?!?
I think the overall message here is that the demographic drives the content and sadly, Mature titles are few and far b...
"Just as ridiculous as the blaming Nintendo for the shovelware on their system."
Soooo...who is to fault then if it isn't Nintendo for allowing said "shovelware" to pass their QA? Last time I checked Nintendo controlled EVERYTHING that either makes the pass or fail for development.
I can enjoy the 360 for Microsoft's endless pockets in acquiring titles such as Mass Effect, Gears, etc. I can also enjoy the PS3 for the quality releases on that pla...
...it makes perfect sense. Sony reaches out to its members, Microsoft does the same to secure titles. Instead of ignoring a title that might appeal to a more core gamer, why not jump in and save it? Nintendo certainly has the money to lend to projects like these, instead we have to watch their decisions to turn a blind eye to titles like Disaster, Fatal Frame, etc.
Why not fault the company who really takes no control over their partners content?
Shouldn't we be showering EA with a little praise here? Certainly their past isn't deserving of any, but their recent actions seem to shed light on a far more humble company who has been admitting their mistakes, and citing their successes.
EA: Sorry, we blew it...but hey, the PS3 version is BETTER!!
US: Wow, no kidding? You dropped the ball and are making it up to us?
Good show EA. While I can't exactly promise a day-1 purchase for this, I did hold off on...
...I grow increasingly tired of these articles. I'm not faulting the editorial, or the columnist but why must I be subjected to one more reason my Wii isn't played with any regularity. Nintendo has done a mighty fine job of creating a home version of the DS filled with an abundance of crap, a few diamonds in the rough (Zack & Wiki, No More Heroes, and a few upcoming titles)...but everything else is PORT/REHASH/WASH-RINSE-REPEAT!
Red Faction is one of my favorite series...al...
Aside from the AI of the first game I just didn't enjoy it. I can honestly say F.E.A.R. was the first Monolith title I didn't enjoy. I thought the CPU characters were intelligent and challenging on the right difficulty, but the setting seemed contrived and not at all scary.
After playing F.E.A.R. 2, it seems Monolith has created something of a love-letter to the fans. Combining elements of F.E.A.R. (obviously), Condemned, and SHOGO...wow...SHOGO...I have to say, my waning inte...
...this business is about money. So if the development was financially advantageous to Valve...sure, of course. It has nothing to do with the fanbase here, or there, it has everything to do with money, who is financing it, the projected return on investment. I mean seriously, who the hell cares what platform it' on. From the perspective of development "Where there's a will...there's a way." This whole "PS3 is so difficult to program for.", attitude is ridiculously ove...
I'm rather certain Microsoft will do whatever they can to keep this exclusive...timed as I think EA's support for the PS3 (as shown through recent support and announcements) will have them (EA) less than willing to completely take the plunge into exclusivity.
Because it's under the EA umbrella it really does give credence to the possibility of it going multi-plat, and really...would we be surprised? My only fear would be continuity for as much as I loved the original, and would ...
Like everyone else here with a lick of sense, the only WINS that can even be considered a victory in M's corner are...oh wait, just Numbers (3) & (5).
Bioshock 2 is multi-console and we all know it will do well on both platforms.
The recession doesn't seem to be slowing the adoption rate of Blu-Ray this season so I'm not sure how Mr.Bashir can even think this is a valid bullet-point.
Considering EA's recent streamlining of their 2009 lineup, it's mor...
...so really, is this a win or simply a small and optional added feature to my annual bill? Sony, outright, stated that PSN would be free but Micro Transactions would be present for specific & OPTIONAL add-on content. We're surprised by this story why?
And many of the games net you unlockable items to wear/decorate with if you net High Scores too!
...they both introduced us to the idea that it is A-O-K to jump all over the board that is the timeline. So why not here? I feel pretty confident that if they WANT to do another game, certainly they have enough backstory to do so. Or we can just go the route that IGA took and omit certain games from the official timeline as never really existing, or part of the extended or ALTERNATE timeline theory.
I hate reading articles like this. Does anybody have anything valid to back up their ridiculous claims? NEVER!
Seriously? The economy is crap and it's time to walk away from a system that is selling despite the higher pricepoint of its competition? Business and economics tell us when people are depressed about things, especially money, the go out and spend it on FOOD & ENTERTAINMENT. I think the PS3 falls under these categories as sales don't seem to be bottoming out all that much.
I walk into any Best Buy and there are just as many, if not MORE Xbox 360's laying about. Why is i...
Seriously? Maybe they're running these articles based on crappy purchases of poor-transfer movies like Austin Powers, and anything predating a digital medium.
Seriously, if you can't see the differences on a movie like Wall-E running in SD and HD you should probably head to the local DMV and register as legally blind.
Exactly, it's not like all the stuff is just there for the sake of argument. Everything serves a purpose and the enemies are intelligent beyond what Gears offers. I enjoy Gears but it's for far different reasons than that of R2. Gears has a very gritty feel about it and the characters controller similarly, lumbering...yet able powerhouses in their own right.
R2 excells in one particular area. Call the weapons ridiculous but they are functional and enjoyable. While other ga...
