"A headset will be bundled with PS4, enabling gamers to chat with friends during online gaming and to hear sound effects from the controller."
X-GAME CHAT?
This generation is already an exciting and different one for Sony. Looks like they are re-invigorating the industry once again and have started to amend some of their ties with developers.
Epic Games, Bungie, Square Enix, Capcom, Activision all pledging their support for the PS4.
I mean come on, Unreal Engine 4 actually looks frackin' amazing, even though people started getting tired of UE3.
Oh I already know what I'm going to do to a girl with that controller.
Let her play second player.
I agree with the pie.
Agreed, It is a new Era for the PlayStation, and the new Dualshock is a great evolution. IMO I think Sony did the right thing. Hopefully the ergonomics of the controller will improve and bring in more gamers.
Seriously though, as much as I think Killzone and even the UE4 engine looks so good, we still haven't seen the cream of the crop yet. Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica, and PD are the three that's probably going to literally blow every ones mind.
Man, I can't imagine the amount of sheer game play value with those open world games.
Eh who cares. It's like that bright shiny awesome looking GTX 690 or GTX Titan or Asus Ares II. Has no effect on performance. Heck, I hate the color scheme of my Zotac GTX 680 but that bad boy is clocked to 1215mhz stable and that's all I care about.
Yeah don't get me wrong, I know the specs aren't going to blow any PC rigs out of the water or anything. But I didn't expect it to.
However, I still pleasantly surprised on how good things looked anyway.
Yes we're going to have our gaming PCs, but now we don't have to shake the feeling of "ugh I wish this was on PC instead."
I'll probably end up doing the same thing, play mostly PS4 exclusives and everything ...
It can't be directly compared because it uses GDDR5, the GPU is pretty much still unknown at this point, and other unseen costs on the board. So no, a $600 PC isn't quite the same.
For a guy who's big on PC gaming, I thought you'd factor that in at least.
I have to admit, I honestly did not think it would have been that big of a leap either. Killzone Shadow Fall absolutely blew my mind and it's still probably a year away.
This is going to be the first time ever I will pre-order a console.
I said a few months ago that I won't be an early adopter, but after what I've seen I'm going to get the higher end model day one.
And come on, 8GB DDR5 is already beyond what PC games can e...
Holy sh*t God of War III still looks pretty f'in amazing.
Didn't PD already say they started work on GT6 right after GT5? Being one of the premiere studios for Sony, I wouldn't be surprised if they were one of the first studios to have PS4 specifications and develop with that in mind.
So GT6 might not be that far away than we think!
Definitely more polished looking than the Beta.
They could pull an Apple and just call it "The New Playstation."
Gaming websites: "We now have a PS4 for review!"
Sony: "NO... NO!!! It's the NEW PlayStation!!!"
Jesus christ people let's just wait until wednesday
Sooooo... we haven't officially entered the next generation of consoles yet and they are already talking about what happens after?
Although I agree that the next consoles won't be achieving the same level as today and future PCs, you can never underestimate a closed platform. Looking back at some PS3/360 games, it's amazing what they have accomplished despite the 6-7 year old hardware. Developers become extremely creative in extracting every last ounce of those platforms.
Obviously I'm not saying they did 1080p 60fps with mega textures or anything like that, but games like Uncharted and God o...
The Unreal Demo 4 on PC was running off a GTX 680. A complete system running would probably run $1000 and up to run it. So not an Apples to Apples comparison. It never ever will be.
