Same here. I will swallow my pride of buying overpriced underpowered hardware to just play that game.
^death. Nobody said anything about "real" or "fake" gamers. I'm simply stating if people want the best quality multiplatform games for their money you get a PS4 outside of investing in a high powered PC.
If your tv accepts a 1080p signal and displays in 1080p despite being a native 720p panel, you will still enjoy the benefit of 1080p because it will down sample and still a bit sharper than a native 720p game. Right now some people in the gaming PC gaming world like to down sample 2160p down to 1080p and enjoy cleaner lines. Those who don't believe me just look up in Google nvidia down sample.
Honestly, that's usually how it is for product launches that sell out. People will buy them and turn them in for a personal profit. Not a bad way to make a ton of quick cash for a short amount of time.

Multiplatform titles and Exclusives.
If gaming is your thing and you only have one console choice, you pick the PS4 for the best multiplatform titles and future exclusives. Pretty simple as that.
As far as the media features go it will keep being updated. The PS3 at launch vs the PS3 of late are vastly different. And given how much OS RAM they gave the PS4 it leaves plenty of headroom for more features.
Yeah and a pretty in depth review, from gamespot of all places.
Most of the costs seems to hint towards the ESRAM on the SoC.
But yes it makes no sense costs wise since it uses cheap DDR3.

Yeah funny you should mention 1080p without AA, that's Forza 5. Even NBA 2K14 on the X1 is 1080p no AA.
While ALLLLLLLL PS4 games have 1080p with AA.
AC3 was terribly boring for me too. It just didn't connect and looks like it's that way for a lot of people.
But AC4 is really good if you're into the pirate lore and get deep into the naval mechanics. It feels pretty refreshing.
And there's just something satisfying about upgrading my ship and taking on a high level ship and plundering for metal and wood.

If GT6 came out 3 months ago, it would have been worth it to me to play it until the PS4 came out.
Now I really don't have much desire to play GT6. This is coming from a guy who put in months of game time into GT5. That's right, months! It's my most played PS3 game ever.
When GT7 comes out, oh lord I'll be hyped to death waiting for that.
Hopefully GT7 gets released for the PS4 soon. Me skipping on my favorite racing franchise will hopefully be worth the wait.

There are too many unannounced PS4 games in the pipeline. Just sit back and don't worry. The PS3 is a big indication of how many exclusives come out. The PS4 will be no different, arguably will be even better.
