Yeah, getting ridiculous though.
Really? He already made his intentions clear that he's going to focus on the Oculus Rift, some NASA projects, and other things. Doesn't look he's into game development as much anymore.
They've only scratched the surface! Looking at the time tables, they've hit a metric of 15us for CPU timings. They could get that a little bit lower with more optimization.
This is the problem they have with Planetside 2 trying to optimize for more than 2 CPU cores on the PC version.
It goes without saying only the most talented developers are able to really code for multi-threaded CPUs properly. But this isn't easy stuff.
Extrem...
lol
I mean they really don't have too much going for them at this point except maybe come out with some good first party games.
Honestly I think what really killed the system is the naming scheme, it really should have been "Super Wii" or "Wii 2" or "Wii anything but U"
Some people still think it's a tablet add-on to the original Wii.
Microsoft: "Play the games not the resolution"
Gamers: "Ok, you know what? You're right. Graphics don't matter that much, gameplay is what's going to be what defines next-gen."
*Loads up Ryse*
Gamers: "Whoa what the hell MS?"
Microsoft: "Umm... Play the resolution, not the game! Forza 5 Running 1080p 60fps shows what future Xbox One Games Can Be."
Hopefully it's more games.
That's the best route as far as price/performance ratio is concerned. An SSD is going to be the fastest option, but we'll be lucky to fit like 5 full games on a 256GB drive (It's actually only around 238GB effective)
"Tired of these cross platform games..." PS4 has only been out a week and X1 only out today.
Sooo... just give it some time
Can't tell if serious
The Vita is a console by itself, not an apples to apples comparison. Remote play is just an extra perk.
^Nope I still wouldn't accept it.
Developers can make concessions elsewhere and get creative in optimization instead. 720p and jaggies should be a thing of the past.
Super clean, crisp and clear graphics should be the standard. And that's only possible with higher resolutions and good anti-aliasing.
There's a reason why some PC gamers rock a 1440-1600p monitor because the pixel density is mind blowing.
IMO I think there should only be three standards. 1080p 30fps or 1080p 60fps and at the very least 900p 60fps. None of this 720p stuff, that's some serious last gen stuff
Yes but how many times will this need to be said? It's all about price.
Sure Sony or even MS could have thrown in a Radeon 7970 and a Core i5 or something but guess what that GPU used to cost $550 at launch and is now around $300. The total cost of the system would be at $700-$800.
The 1 Million PS4 sales would be lucky to hit 100,000 at that price.
Yup, and a particular system is going to have a hard time reaching that standard.
lol the math of Xboners
Except Ryse isn't overrated, it's rated exactly where it's at.
Native 900p upscaled to 1080p is still native 900p... It doesn't magically insert pixels that aren't there.
And no "Sony boys" don't have to count pixels seeing as how all but one PS4 games are 1080p anyways.
Microsoft boys are the ones who need to start questioning what their resolution is considering a majority of them are 720p.
How about Killing in general is terrible?
But seriously, are you trying to downplay the tragic event at Sandy Hook?
The only confirmed specs are on the GPU side. The CPU side is all conjecture.
PS4:
800mhz
1.84Tflops
1152 Stream Processors
18 CU's
32 ROPS
X1:
830mhz
1.3Tflops
768 Stream Processors
12 CU's
16 ROPS
This reminds me much about the power of the Cell memes.
Except, the Cell processor was a real thing that actually processed video games and certain TV brands.
