Ah, now I cannot see the 6 anymore, but a giraffe receiving head.
It's sad and totally sucks that the entire staff was laid off. We're talking about lots of people who pour in so many hours and raw talent into doing the things they love the most - making video games.
It also makes me happy to see how the rest of the industry reacts to this. They know layoffs just ends people's jobs and the negative impact this can take, and I'm glad they're offering them jobs. Hopefully everyone laid off will once more find a job.
Well, this was to be expected at some time. This is what happens if you release a highly anticipated game with one caveat - to play always be online. People are going to hate it and find ways to circumvent that.
I'll second that!
Thatgamecompany makes very unique games. I love that about them and completely enjoyed every single game they've made. All of the games have interesting play mechanics and art styles.
Okay you already have both games but ever stopped to think that perhaps others don't? Not everyone outside the States have a US PSN account.
This is actually for those without the time to go out and buy the game.
I don't know for some reason, but I prefer the physical disc. It's there on my shelf, I can bring it down and play it or lend it to a friend.
Agreed. In terms of a console recommendation I always go with the PS3.
One of my friends (who is on a budget) was considering getting an Xbox 360, subscribing to Xbox Live and finding a game to play. I told him the Xbox platform is a good one, but if he went that route he'd have to pay for the console, Xbox Live as well as the game itself.
So instead he got a PS3 at a discount, signed up on PSN and was very happy to see that DCUO is available on the PS3 (...
Of course it's not a big deal. If Sony gave you say a free copy of The Last of Us and God of War Ascension you'd shrug and say "...Meh." because it wouldn't be a big deal.

Ah....Heavy Rain. That was an awesome game. Despite having collected all trophies already, I recently replayed the game using the PS Move. Strange at first, but was actually pretty good.
I implore this guy to continue making such games - true innovation.
Agreed. If you honestly compare the way the launch game was to the way it is today, there are many changes. I'm glad they're doing it, rather than just put the game out there then throw in a couple of updates then call it a day.
Wait...I remember Haze!
First saw the trailer at E3 2008 (I think) then later on there was a multiplayer demo/beta, which was OK, that was released shortly before launch.
If I'm not mistaken, it was anticipated as the Halo killer...whatever happened to Haze??
It had to happen. There had to be some review of the website that does anything but give the game a high score, it was just a matter of time.
What gives you the impression that they've already announced their big surprises before E3? We know what they've announced but not what they haven't. We'll have to wait. Judging from past conferences, Sony usually aims to top its previous conferences the previous year.
Ninty's hardware might garner some attention because it's new. It doesn't mean that all focus and attention will be drawn towards them. For once I'm more interested in what Sony ...
Haha, that makes you the most interesting gamer in the world. :D
Agreed.
Time has also proven that hardcore gamers and the like will most likely keep on buying software for a platform, while the casuals might simply migrate to the next hip thing. Example, like what Ninty is facing in terms of smartphones and tablets.
The casual market is a good source of money, but the problem is that it's not a long term one.
This could also come down to users' opinions.
Some casual gamers simply prefer a single multi-function device that will give them their entertainment.
They might not see the need to go ahead and buy this extra device for the sake of playing simple games, which their smartphones already do. Again, user opinions.
As for mine, I love my Vita. It doesn't matter how powerful smartphones and tablets will get, they simply can't bring t...

Hopefully they also introduce it along with UT4?
I usually do a similar thing, but I compare services and their features with how much they're worth/cost.
As of today, comparing Live to PSN and/or Steam, Live is just a RIPOFF. Even to do the most basic thing (play online) doesn't come free. Some people will point out last year's PSN hack fiasco and point out that Live offers a better service because they pay for it. I'd then Show them Valve's Steam service which is so much better than Live in any way, an...
