honestly guys ... would backwards compatability still be a big need if these classic PS2 games were remastered in HD w/ Trophy support? Most gamers want the BC for titles such as these, not for playing EA Harry Potter titles.
When it rains ... it pours! I am very happy for the Naughty Dog!
:)
This is the DEFINITIVE game of this generation (so far)!
Eurogamer stamp of approval .. CHECK!
I'm sorry but this all but confirms Epic's stance on the current generation. Gears is done on the 360.
at least there is an official statement and a committment to address the issue.
IGN ... I guess it easy to get an article saying "PS3 on top in Japan" when you have an article saying "PS3 last place in Japan" .. makes for a good transition
Pirate ..
Sony would be making a good profit from putting top PS2 games with HD, trophies, and budget prices versus R&D into making PS3 BC for ALL games. Most are asking BC for the top games. I think they could care less for PS2 Harry Potter titles.
There are a few collections I would re-buy in a heart beat if they remastered them.
I equate this to DVDs getting the special edition and remastered editions or buying the same movie on Blu-ray be...
Screens, Screens, and videos ... I need to see this! Thank you Sony! You have delivered to the fans ... once again!
my thoughts as well ... the actual game was an OK port of the 360/PC version but it had its problems. Wondering if its been patched up.
Go Gaming Giant ... if you are going to make an article like that and list titles for 2010 for MS but not Sony ... it makes the article weak. Educate us a bit more on why 2010 is better for 360 gaming than PS3 gaming.
someone is fibbing ... right? You think EA and Sony would EVER and I mean EVER admit to a rumor, ESPECIALLY this one?
Dlacy .. its quite simple. Service/Technology oversight ... agreed. Did Sony try to fix ... yes. Why can't we get this functionality then? Like I said before, there is more than meets the eye here. I don't think we have the full story here. I don't think EA would be too worried about custom tracks for a Harry Potter game.
I sent a friendly email to a few of the executives asking if they could make a statement on this rumor! It seems the internet is up in a roar.
Something doesn't make sense to me ... why would EA make a big deal about not supporting custom soundtracks and cross game chat for titles like Harry Potter? I'm not sure Harry Potter is NOT their BIG title.
putting the game on my shelf for good was my favorite Gears 2 360 moment! Loved the single player ... but multi ... STOP .. I'm not going there again.
Pirate ... educated guess here but I think there is less overhead on CPU when using quincunx versus standard or multi-sampling. I guess dev figured its easier to use this method and keep performance of the game somewhat reasonable to 360 version of the game.
Its because of the type of AA method. I believe 360 is 2-4x MSAA versus PS3 which is a method called quincunx. 2 to 4xMSAA is alot more clear than quincunx
Does anyone know where to see before and after screens? I would like to see them 'match' 360 resolution.
Don't want to play with flames ... but the math just doesn't make sense to me.
