let me remind you that for a lot of PC gamers, tweaking the settings and stuff like that to optimize the game is a part of the experience they enjoy with gaming on PC + you learn a sh*tload of stuff too.
It can be frustrating, but boy, does it feel good when you can let a game run better than standard.
the first Mafia game was one of the best games i have ever played; graphics, gameplay, style, sound,... so i'm pretty wired for this one.
And from the looks of it, Mafia 2 will deliver :)
You only have 3 opponents tho, so in a way it makes sense it looks as good as it does.
Sony should not exit the hardware. The more competitors, the better for us, gamers. The fact remains that Sony isn't dominating the scene this gen as they did last gen with PS2. But leaving the hardware just for that reason would be stupid.
if it wasn't worth it, I wouldn't pay for it. I wouldn't mind off course if MS would make Live free.
But come one, if you can't spare $50 over a year? I know people who pay $100 a month just for cigarettes.

KZ2 will be a great game with the best console graphics to date, but that's about it.
well, if worked out properly, I think it can add a surplus on the experience and, with no doubt, make FPS games more playable on console (using a controller compared with mouse and keyb.) So yes, i think you can count that as inovation for gameplay :) We will see how that stuff will work when the game arrives :)
well, i started reading the comments and i read a lot of 'god of FPS' and 'inovative'. Now i understand what you say. It's true that a game does not need to be inovative in a way to be great, so i can agree with you there (considering that is what you're pointing at)
But to bomb a game as 'god' it must have something that no other FPS game can offer, so i ask them what that is.
for all you guys who claim KZ2 the god of FPS.
Tell me what is so inovative about KZ2? Clearly it has to be something that makes it the new standard as you call it the god in the genre?

It looks very nice idd and truly amazing for a console, but considering all platforms, nothing beats PC (Crysis for that matter)
KZ2 seems to have a great atmosphere, true, but that doesn't mean it's inovative.
Story?
I have no doubt KZ2 has a great story to it, ...
we all know how these comparisons tell the simple fact that;
although the PS3 has more power than X360, when it comes to multiplat games, there is basicly no difference in terms of graphics. Maybe the X360 versions of certain games have a little edge over the PS3 versions because it's easier to program for, but that doesn't change the experience you get from the game at all!!
My point being; these comparisons should get banned as they are pointless and have no other purpose...
i guess you haven't played that much games then...
anyway, KZ2 looks to be great tho.
to be honest, KZ2 looks pretty amazing, considering it runs on a console. But Crysis has the best graphics, hands down.
What i also think is that, because Crysis looks so freakischly real at times, getting confronted with aliens suddenly felt like a slap in the face, meaning that it smashed me out of the gameworld that seemed so real. In case of KZ2, although looking not that 'real', it has a more believable world.
Now this is just from screens and movies i've seen from KZ2...
well, if it wasn't for the games, I would run Linux already. Too bad.
Hope the support for Linux in the gaming area will increase.
well, I read that some Australian scientist found a way to make some kinda superconductors out of rather basic material. He made them to make the speed of DSL go through the roof :)

The reason why it is so hard: GT looks really great but car damage isn't calculated with the car models. Forza doesn't look as good as GT, true, but hit a wall, or slide against it and the carmodel will change.
All this has to be calculated in realtime, thus using some processingpower. Now that they want to put cardamage in GT, they have to do the same thing, but they want to keep GT looking as good as it does now. So they need to get some extra power out of the PS3 and that is, what I ...

not every game that has been long in developement will suck.
Mafia was in developement for more than 6 years, but it's still one of the best games ever! Stalker had a hard time, but came out good enough.
either streamed or on blueray. The difference can be the soundquality.
My point for this matter; when both deliver same quality in sound and picture, i wouldn't care much for choosing streamed or blueray, when we are talking about movies. For games however, i prefer something i can store in a closet :)
