Very nice technology!! I Hope this will become the new standard in future games :)
I believe there's not that much difference between the cars themself, but the lightning seems to be a bit better by GT, giving the car in GT a nicer shine.
I'm suprised at the difference in both tracks, kinda funny :)
it's not a bad game at all, I just think PD made some bad decisions suchs as the need to unlock damage, not every car has cockpit view, grade of finishing of the cars...
Instead of bulking the game with various types of racing, I would rather see the core of the game have equal top finished cars with cockpit views.

crashing cars in a game is not "too real", you're just exaggerating now.
Crashing is a part of racing even while you don't want it to happen, it does occur. So yes, simulators need a damage/crashing model.

Not all the cars have the same grade of finishing. Some cars don't even have a cockpit view.
The online mode is a mess when you wanna race against friends.

Imo, instead of filling the BR disc with al kinds of racing disciplines, Polyphony should have concentrated on the basic of the game so each car would looked as gorgeous as only a part does now.
GT5 simply didn't deliver on what was hoped (or hyped for that matter) by the fans.
but when you watch a video of someone racing (or your own replay for that matter), you have the time to focus on the surroundings.
It's just that there seems some difference in texture quality between the buildings and the trees, that's all. But like you said; when racing yourself, you won't focus on the surroundings that much.
funny, the buildings look very nice, but the trees look like balls of green cotton.
apart from the bug, the loading time seems huge! hope PD fixes that.
after 2 years of Fifa (09 and 10) I'm getting PES again. This year Konami really (finally) rebuilded the controls and they are awesome.
Also, the manager mode is way better in PES than Fifa's imo.
a day 1 purchase for me and my friends as well. This game will be a blast in 4 player co-op!

well, based on the many, many,... many videos from GT5:
1- not a single person on the videos seems to know how to drive.
2- the damage model is as good (or bad) like Forza's
3- GT wins handsdown in the Graphics department.
4- and I don't believe in God's of any kind!
if I don't have to wear any glasses.
but, first of all, when possible, play this game on the pc; better controls imo.
Second, but foremost!!; don't compare this game with GTA, Red Dead, Saint's Row,...
This game is very storydriven. You don't play Mafia for the "sandbox"like freedom, because you won't get it. You play it for the story. The open world counts as a backup to give you full immersion of the period and world the story is told in.
you know what I like about this review? He didn't give it a score. Other sites should do the same. All this nonsense about games who didn't get a certain score,... it's pathetic at times.
these reviewers never played the first Mafia, I'll bet...
That game was similar with this one and had great scores. It's still my personal number 1 pc game ever.
This is NOT a GTA clone, neither a true sandboxgame. Most people tend to forget this.

As far as graphics go, Crysis on the PC is the best realistic looking game, but after seeing actual real life, we still have a long way to go.
