This is great news
From a console gamer to a PC gamer. What surprise me the most about PC gaming is its ease of use both software and hardware wise. A couple of clicks away and every game I want can be downloaded and install. But my biggest surprise is platformers and more platformer games that is unreal. Old school jrpgs galore, and scare in your shit pants survival horror games. Even an upcoming arcade racer, yes an arcade racer game on the PC. Schockingly enough splitscreen multiplayer is making its way to PC...
I agree but let's get something straight and that's gamers becoming modders and then independent game developers that drive PC gaming forward. It was former PC gamers that brought counterstrike not Valve,it was pc gamers that brought Day Z,etc. Its through kickstarter, early access that some of the best games are coming out like the sequel to Wasteland,FTL, Hawken,Rust,The Forest, etc. So it will be the gamers themselves not a multibillion dollar corporation that drives PC gaming for...
The author forgot about the schmups like Jamestown, enemy mind. Platformer exclusives like freedom planet, old school jrpgs like Dream,Recettear, YS franchise ,etc. The adventure genre is really on the easy side except Primordia. Path of Exile is a really good game. I guess is that there's not that many complex games as years past. I tried the mmo genre but I just don't get the appeal to it
Not just graphics but new missions, improved A.I., new maps, skins, characters, vehicles, etc. Look at Fallout series you can get a mod that makes the A.I.adaptive how you play, also there's a mod that cripple makes the character unable to run, or walk straight. Skyrim has tons of missions made by gamers for free, You can also play as batman run over Spiderman using a jeep on Skyrim. .......
My answer 2015,MGS 5,The Division
The Crew, are some mainstream games bringing something new or different. The Division civilians freaking finally we get to see not just some factions of soldiers but be able to interact with civilians. The blending of single player with online gaming, etc. The crew coast to coast racing bringing the greatness of midnight club. But MGS 5 build your base, form your mini army, new card board gameplay mechanics, etc. Indie side, the forest, rust, day z out...
Is hard to say how expensive gaming is. Meaninh look at "The Forest",4 man team, amazing visuals, rim with content from cutting trees, eating, sleeping, hunting, swimming, etc. I guess is possible through gamers crowdfunding say game. I wholeheartedly agree with what you say in your last paragraph. I do want to point out that gamers are going from consumers to non-pay publishers/ testers/marketing. Game Developers want an early access program on consoles why because gamers will end ...
Damn, that's exactly what I was going to say.
Lucky for PC gamers will get to play some of these exclusive games to PC. Sadly, you need a Windows OS to play them boo
Ok thanks for the clarification 😊
Nice article, so basically Sony wants to enter the tv satellite/ cable and tv streaming market. Ot could also lead to Sony not making consoles and just offer PlayStation Now service.
I felt the nineties really had very decent video game journalism that actually reported on what was really happening in the gaming industry. None of this crap of opinions, anonymous sources, etc. As for gaming that is a very opinionated subject except I miss the content pack single player campaign games with mini games, map editors, alternate paths, etc.
Confused before online gaming arrived to consoles ;split screen multiplayer was the only option. Now with this whole online thing split screen multiplayer is going the way of the dodo on consoles. Oddly though PC gaming and some not all games are getting split screen multiplayer considering that in console land is not possible to play PC games on the tele. The reality is ,its possible and soon PC games will have split screen, online, and lan . Yikes were are the options for console gamers ...
In 2016-2018, you will see phones hooked to tv sets with the ability to stream any game on it. of course with a wireless gamepad. Onlive proved that it was possible to use the cloud and stream heavy graphical games like L.A. Noire, Batman Arkham Asylum, even the PC version of Crysis minus mods. To think that is going to stop there is ridiculous. By 2016-2017 the phones will really take over consoles
Hmmmm didn't Onlive proved that it was possible to play Batman Arkham Asylum on any phone or mobile device......,,
This is pure lazyness from Microsoft to release a non-localized console with less features after a delay of ten months what a joke.
The swedes like the author waited almost a year for the xbox one and now that they got it. It has less content,so to them it feels like they got cheated and to piss them off Microsoft teases them with content they can't buy and enjoy. So they're not jolly right now. Ten months and can't get a console with all the updates the rest of the world has along with say content man these console manufacturers are lazy as hell nowadays.
Gaming used to be not only about fun but as a gateway to escape the harsh reality we live in. I wish all these social warriors and politics would go away. Also a return of free unlockables, labyrinth like levels, secret or alternate paths with real alternate endings not red or blue ending would return. The single player campaign is more barebones than ever before ugh !!!. ......
Not to be a downer or anything but this reminds me of last generation about the xbox 360 getting age of conan, city of heroes, apb, etc which none of them came to the console. Likewise I am still waiting for the agency to come to the PS4 at least for it never came to the PS3. So apart from the crew don't get your hopes up.
My fondest memory of gaming is bartman were bart is a superhero. The first level the junkyard, with dogs patrolling the yard, bouncing tires, car crushers in 2D ......
