Actually gamers would be better off without the big three. No more pay to play online, no more parity crap,no more games being hold back because that console is not powerful. No more this game doesn't fit with the ideology or vision of say corporation, gets axe. Full backwards compatibility enabled. Kickstarter and Steam minus early access have proven time and time again to be pro gamer not pro corporation. In fact gamers have more control of their gaming experience on Steam than say ...
Umm no,kickstarter, indie games and say mobile gaming is not going anywhere if Nintendo leaves. Let's be real here; kickstarter proved that gamers are willing to play niche odd and unique games like FTL, Mark of the Ninja, Among the Sleep, etc. Mobile gaming is not going anywhere but would grow immensely without Nintendo by bringing the third party 3DS games to mobile. .....
Ok Nintendo is just another corporation nothing more nothing less. If Nintendo leaves the industry maybe Google and Apple may pick up were Nintendo left off. But to imply that without Nintendo there wouldn't be any innovation is laughable. Valve brought Steam that pretty much Sony and Microsoft have copy and paste some of the features Steam had for years like auto updates/ patches, pre-load, free to play games, etc. Thanks to PC gamers that emulated games came the idea for Nintendo to cr...
No mention of Cube a cube like maze were people need to use mathematics to escape the insane traps within the maze. It could make an awesome game
Replaying a game may offer new outcomes or silliness. Besides who doesn't re-watch say a film or. re-read a book
LoL guess smartphones will replace consoles. The Z3 is a smartphone, and is already running Destiny at the same frames per second as the console.
Yup,PlayStation Now is Sony's next-gen console
So,now smartphones are ok for gaming because Sony let's you play on a Sony smartphone/ tablet your PlayStation games.
Dedicated consoles are not needed and will end up like the vcrs. PlayStation tv and PlayStation Now like services and small roku like devices will replace consoles. Even better be able to wireless hook up our cellular phones to tv screens and use them like controllers, with all the information being transferred from phone to quad smart tv set. All gamers will need to pay is the service whether it is Xbox Live
PlayStation Now,or Nintendo Network. Instead of which console is better it ...
Consoles will become little rokus say like PlayStation TV which all it is a set box hard drive and a micro motherboard. But is capable of running tv, tv show apps like Netflix plus PlayStation Now. That's what consoles will become.
Best comment thus far
4K on consoles hmmm with these next-generation consoles struggling 1080p 60 frames per second, I don't see it. 4K gaming is already available on PC like Metro Last Light. .......
I agree with Patcher on this one. Dedicated consoles cannot compete with smart tvs, smartphones, PCs,etc. 4K not happening anytime soon especially at $400.00. Games like No Man's Sky,The Division, etc. will showcase how outdated these next-generation consoles truly are. PlayStation Now will become the next-generation console for Sony.....
Well said,is about providing a cheap fair and customer driven service to win the battle against piracy. Like the old saying goes "the customer is always right ".
Pre-owned games are protected by the First Sale Doctrine which legalizes the right to buy used/ pre-owned games. Piracy however is completely illegal.
Funny video
What if say gamer gave. Watchdogs/ Destiny free advertising and hype via Youtube, twitch tv,etc. Letting their friends, family, etc to buy Destiny/Watchdogs for is going to be an awesome game. Then they find out is crap...... What if gamers told the game developers "hey there's a bug or the combat mechanics need fixing or there's no single campaign ". When you look at it that way say small group of gamers do have the right to complain
Props for an intellectual comment rare to see it on n4g;however, I disagree. For one there's a shift from corporate rule to consumer rule. The era of consumers deciding what to buy or not to buy is coming to an end. The consumer is becoming the publisher, the videogame tester, the store curator and advertiser. Youtube, twitch tv ,etc. gamers not professionals advertising, reviewing, and hyping say games. Kickstarter, Steam Early Access, Indie GoGo,etc. gamers telling game developers wha...
Is not Metal Gear without some silliness
Only $500-$600 needed to build a PC for games.
