Obviously iphone wins especially now that it has onlive. For those that don't know onlive offers console gaming experiences on a mobile device in this case iphone like L.A. noire, batman arkham city and next year skyrim. With onlive enable on the iphone you can use the onlive gamepad. Plus you can continue playing say onlive games on your laptop or gaming PC at no extra cost. So onlive+app store= victory for iphone gamers end of story.

Very intelligent well written article. Now gaming yes its an art form more like interactive art form plus it encompasses all other art forms i.e. music, story, etc. I totally agree that change needs to be done when it comes to game journalism which it has gotten worse.......

Well I am not excited about it, but what Sony could do is improve the eyetoy add the 3D glasses and maybe go with he move. Other than that personally dissapointed it looks like the end of the core gamer for videogame consoles. Luckily Onlive is bringing its cloud based gaming service to a smart tv this year now that is freaking badass.

As far as MGS goes that franchise is pretty much done. Solid snake is too old and raiden quit being a soldier and became a family man. Really the only games that can add to this franhise are the remakes of metal gear and metal gear two or raiden rescuing suny from the patriots. Zelda, mario, pokemon are pretty much the same game since the n64. This article just proved that we are slaves to certain gaming franchises that we do not want its creators to create a new franchise.

Gaming is a great medium to tell great stories. I do not agree with david jaffee on his views that story in a game is a waste of time. Balance is key by making a game with great story along with great gameplay that is awesome. Minecraft is a game were the gamer can create their own story. Games like Uncharted prove how to tell a great story interwined with gameplay by keeping in-game cutscenes as part as moving the story forward but kept all the mayhem and explosions as gameplay. That is were...

These are indeed cool features and yes onlive lets you play your games on any device. So of course Sony is implementing these features to compete with Onlive.

Hmmm so true the film industry is pretty stagnant. Unfortunately, there is a lot of games that have not moved forward. Anyways, cant wait to play their game dear esther sounds very interesting.

who won this gen inconclusive. Some may say why now the wii did outsold both PS3 and xbox 360 in retail sales that is. But in overall sales inconclusive the playstation 3 was sold not only to consumers but also to the scientific community, U.S. air force and federal agents, etc. it could be exported or imported legally to those europeans/australians that got tired of waiting for the PS3 to launch in their region. Remember the third console of sony got released on spring 07 to those regions. s...

I am not much into visuals but yeah the next step in gaming would be more interactivity less CG scenes that show all the action while the gamer sits there and watch. I like this interview and finally there is a game developer that is brutally honest and is in there for the gamers.

Treat the consumer like a fan that sounds about right, sell games at competitive prices. Make quality deep games tada now you have a fanbase willing to pay for your games.

Ha ha ha ha ha cloud gaming in the future hmm yeah sure the future. Come on people wake up our local video stores, music stores, and even bookstores are pretty much gone. Face it the cloud is real and is here already. Itunes, Netflix, Vudu, Hulu Plus, hell Amazon's Kindle the Ipad pretty much obliterate it our brick and mortar stores. All I hear is borders is closing down its stores. Folks who buys blu-ray or dvd films now. Hardly anybody meaning the end of physical media is near in a yea...

I am still hoping nintendo does the smart decision of ditching the console and deliver us gamers just the tablet. I know very well that tablets are capable of surfing the web, watch movies, play games, listen to music, etc. all in HD glory. Plus this NFC would tuly shine not only with a better screen but without a console.
Now if nintendo decides to bring a console and use the tablet as a controller it would be a disaster. Mainly due it will end up as a gimmick and a poor mans co...

Good points my hub is a needed feature.

Yes we need the romance in more games. It can add depth, replayibility value, etc. It just pushes games as art, loses the only for kids stigma, and makes games more mature if done right

Hmmmm as a gamer I am not a fan of cgi scenes I mean it looks nice and all but I rather play than just watch. Now if I am watching a CGI film I don't mind at all. As for gaming well in-game cutscenes just blend well with the game but what gaming truly needs is to have cutscenes whether they are cgi or in-game as scenes to move the story forward and to pretty much just show the game characters take a break chat away or do normal things; thus, keeping all the action, explosions, etc. as gam...
