uggghhh while the PS3 exclusives may not sell well at retail it still have a 75 % chance to succeed via digital catalogue and import distribution channels. Two it gives the PS3 a reason to buy. Finally each exclusive game has an audience.

What a hilarious guy this Randy Pitchford is and I quote from the article:

"Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford told GamesMaster that Borderlands isn’t on the system since the team has not yet thought of “a natural, obvious, ‘OMG, I want that for what the Wii U brings to the table’ feature.”

But for Aliens colonial marines this is what he said:

"“But with Aliens, the first thing we thought was ‘Holy sh*t, I can have a motion controller in m...

Explain what Sony and Nintendo need to catch up. Sony already offers free games, cloud saves, and the communication features are fine it even includes social services integration into say games like youtube or facebook even twitter was added to the uncharted series............

Nintendo is lazy should of come with no 5gb patch. Its tv video services installed and ready plus faster loading times. Is a mess is better to wait than being an early adopter just to skip pulling some hair out and being frustrated.

No that is retarded.

Updates should of stayed in PC only and it would be nice to have background updates and patches. Meaning let me watch a movie or play another game while the game I want to play is being updated or patch. Also for the system. Might as well stick to PC because the user has more control of updates and patches i.e. the developer does it for you, you do it via mods, or you let steam do it for you all running in the background.

Well the problem is Nintendo should of come at the very least with some sort of free cloud service. It just crippled the shoppers who bought the 8gb wii u model by forcing them to buy an external hard drive. So instead of $300.00 you are looking at $380.00 or $400.00. It also shows Nintendos' incompetence in this day and age to have a mandatory patch before you mess around with the wii u. The PS3 nor the Xbox 360 did not have this. I worry so for I was looking to purchase a wii u; sadly t...

I will wait and see what the competition offers. An hour long patch doesn't suit me well plus long loading times between menus and its video services un-operable at the moment. Well there goes my Wii u purchase at the moment.

Infamous really makes you part of the city. Traveling is speedy especially if you use the train.

True, who doesn't miss old school games and their mechanics. Like the original spy hunter going trough the level shooting and avoiding the evil helicopter or trying to make that impossible jump on mario. You are absolutely right today's games do have a stronger story and cinematic gameplay has become the norm. Now these games are not really games but man they do have a very strong story like To the moon, Dear Esther. I really can't call them games because there is hardly any gamep...

I do agree of what you say not fully but Marvel vs Capcom 3 the game that charges gamers five bucks for secret characters no thanks. You do have to admit that the author is right and while its true there are games out there that don't follow what the guy of this blog stated but they are so few that is hard to point them out. Deus EX HR is a good example of a game that gives the gamers choices and do whatever the gamer pleases. Infamous and Portal franchise are also great examples of games...

Great blog, that is exactly how I feel in regards to many games nowadays. That's why I was so let down by MGS 4, RE 5, Star wars the force unleashed, et. etc. Today's games are not only not challenging but I spent more time seeing CG cutscenes than actually playing the game. I love movies but I also love playing games. Is unfortunate that today's games are more about watching than playing. I remember playing jumping flash Zone of the Enders and Dark Cloud franchise were it was mos...

Shodan 74 is correct indie developers and to some extent modders are the ones bringing the survival horror genre back from the grave. For those interested in survival horror games why not vote for all those horror games showing up in Steam Greenlight like cry of fear, ENOLA,etc. Kick starter is a great way to bring back survival horror.

videogame consoles have run its course. The only way sony or microsoft can compete against nintendo is via a gaming tablet.

The biggest pitfall with free to play games is lack of balance meaning were you as a gamer has to spend money in order to advance say game plus if the game is designed for the gamer to pay in order to succeed. With that being said I am looking forward to Hawken yes its free to play and well I did talk briefly with Khang Lee creative director of Hawken at this years comikaze. He is eager to make innovative titles and talking that during the nineties mech games were very popular. He disliked t...

Well is as powerful as a smartphone. Meaning most smartphones use between 1gigabyte to 2 gygabites of ram. So the technical specs do not seem impressive. Hopefully Nintendo sticks to what it does best the games. 25gbs of data for next gen titles dissapointing to say the least since the PS3 utilizes 50gbs of data on say blu-ray discs which hopefully the games don´t get crippled like they did this generation. In all honesty the whole rag doll physics, bloom-lighting, 60 frames per second a...

That's exactly what happened to me in the nineties, got viruses, malware for running emulators from atari to snes even genesis games. It was a nightmare back then to play PC games. Now is just point and click play.
