yes I wholeheartedly agree that mainstream games have just being the same game. Is very very hard nowadays to find a truly innovative fresh new game experience. We as gamers desperarly need to look past the media and really challenge the game industry that we want a new gaming experience.

I am not pretending that cell phone gaming is on the same level as handhelds. Is just more practical to have a phone that does everything plus gaming than having a phone, and a handheld. My fear of today's gaming handhelds is they are not catering to the gamer I do not support Sony on having to buy proprietary memory cards in order to play my games nor having to pay for a 3G online service. With the 3DS is having to pay for N64 remakes at $40.00 for one game that is unreasonable due to th...

Well funny enough Australia was not mention since it bans games on a daily basis due to excessive violence or gore. Surprisingly enough I did not know that in Pakistan you are able to play videogames................

Well, ummm the main reason why mobile gaming has risen in recent years is mainly due that it provides mobile gaming experiences. See games like Bioshock, Call of Duty, Uncharted are best played on a gaming console or PC. I do not want a console gaming experience on my handheld I want a game that is suited for mobile gaming. Are we as gamers not talking about games being played while we are waiting at the hospital, DMV, AAA office, riding the bus, train, or taxi. That's were you play say g...

Is not a game for everyone and yes it lacks the thrill of other games. Is very on rails, I did not felt the openness of a sandbox game. No, I am still shocked that no towel, napkin, or if gloves existed at that time was used for say collecting and examining evidence....................

No comment on skyrim but it will be nice to see bastion or portal 2 win game of the year. If not how about Uncharted 3. All in all hopefully the winners are not based on their popularity and hype but on their merits.

Ummm okay this article is decent at best. But why all this mongering around digital distribution. Look at STEAM tons upon tons of games at ten, fifteen, twenty or twenty five dollars what's wrong with that. Free cloud saving what is wrong with that. The way I see it physical media is heading over the hills. Buy the game used pay an online pass of ten dollars. Buy the game new pay ten dollars for sharing, trading, or lending your game to your buddy, girlfriend, etc. due to they did not pur...

It is a cohesive service and has better community features i.e. party system, the zones you know that ones that let you play with either pro gamers or celebrities. Excellent matchmaking system. Is just that the $60.00 don't cover the online passes, the netflix, hulu plus, and sky tv monthly fees. No twitter, facebook support, no loyalty program, peer to peer servers, pay five dollars for avatar props and two dollars for avatar clothing that is if you are into avatars. STEAM does it all f...

great points right here in regards to games being frightening. Is so sad that game journalists don't seem to comprehend scary games.

wooooooaaaaah!!!!!! that is a shit lot of money. Now what is important is the work environment, perks, paid vacation/sick days. If that's as good as the money then is worth getting to work in the videogame industry

I say lower the prices of games or sell two versions of say game. For example halo single playerr campaign only for $25.00, online only same price. The whole enchilada $50.00 dollars. Just ditch physical copies go only with digital copies yay......

Same old bs files are too big, developing countries lack broadband speeds, blah, blah, blah. LBP can be bought on the PSN store, El Salvador already has broadband speeds plus is doable to use skype. Digital distribution is here to stay.
