I disagree the PS4 is already five times more powerful than the PS3. Look at it this way the PS3 has 512mb of ram split into two 256mb of xdram and 256mb of dd3 or gddr3 and a single core processor with 8 virtual cores. Don't be a fanboy and Sony does offer discounts and free games for those that pay $50.00 for ps plus every year. STEAM offers free games and discounts with no yearly subscription requirement. I understand but would it not be better for gamers to lose that franchise and move on to a new one made by a developer that doesn't screw the customer.

Well said is one of the many reasons why I no longer purchase games at launch or at $60.00 and decide to wait for a price drop. With games needing patches, updates, day one dlc, the online portion is slow or broken. I mean three or two months later the game is fixed.
Can indie game developers getting the full support from Nintendo, are they allowed to run their own networks. What a joke of an article these are issues Nintendo suffered at launch. Next box won't have any issues regarding networking that is were they are good at. Both Microsoft and Sony have strong third party support, so we will see tons of third party games. Sony has like 20 in house gaming studios so exclusives will be available for the PS4. Is over for Nintendo deal with it.
While most indie games lack the visual prowess of blockbuster titles it mades up in terms of new ips or innovation. I do want to point out that mainstream games are not going anywhere due to most indies are more for a niche audience; whereas, blockbuster titles are for everyone.
I appreciate your honesty and I can relate I do like fun games or innovative games. Sadly mainstream games don't appeal me as much as it used to be.
How did the journey development team went bankrupt without the sales data information. Remember video game financial analysts do not cover digital sales. Now is true many publishers play it safe this generation and sticked to the proven franchises or call of duty clones. Please can we call say games blockbusters or mainstream games not AAA games. I mean AAA games are supposed to be the best games the industry has to offer. I am wrong with this or what. Yes I do agree with you there needs to be both mainstream and indie games not just one.
AAA gaming used to be the best games the industry had to offer; nowadays, is the term used for the games you described the linear with mp tacked on. Think of them as the blockbuster film like avatar or the avengers.
