What a depressing realistic blog you have written.
I don't agree nor disagree with your point of view, yes at the moment digital distribution limits our consumer rights ;however, in Europe STEAM customers won the battle against Valve allowing them their first sale doctrine rights

60gb PS3 bought Resistance Fall of Man and the real reason I bought it was for Mgs 4 along with the feature of using Linux.
I agree with you 100 percent.
Sorry I am sticking with STEAM until this clears out. Now the only way to play online free on PS4 hopefully is ugh via peer to peer servers. Not ideal but better than nothing. I still don't know where did the main source of this information came from, that I want to know because it was not stated at E3.
While true it may not be as powerful as the next generation consoles ; however, free online gaming, discounts for games, free games, and all the bells and whistles of online gaming communication without paying a subscription. Well that would put the Nvidia shield as a cheaper pro consumer video game console. Being a powerful system doesn't guarantee success. At the moment it's advantage is the ability to play games both at home and on the go without needing to buy a secondar...
Screw this I am definitely sticking to PC gaming
I am a PS3 owner and PC gamer. I am pissed that for the PS4 you have to pay to play online. I hate to say it but man how I wished xbox live was not a success due to its success now playstation owners must pay to play online. I am sticking to PC gaming this upcoming next generation mainly because I dont have to pay a subscription service to get discounts and free games.
I like Nintendo but man no surprises, shocks or megaton. To piss everyone off its best games Mario kart 8, smash brothers, bayoneta 2 are all slated to be ready for next year. The mainstream games that are a guarantee to sell wii u systems coming next year that makes sense. I mean what is Nintendo doing the company I grew up with and enjoyed it's many games like bartman, killer instinct, etc. is utterly clueless this generation.
Thank you, I was about to say the same thing.
Sadly this was a terrible conference and should of gone with a major stage conference instead.
Well guess I am definitely sticking with STEAM. I am not going to bother boycotting this since it didn't work. Anyhow Steam already offers discounts, free games, etc. Now if this is due to maintaining and cost crapola well give gamers the option to run their own servers, set up a green light equivalent or better service run by gamers. Allow third party social services like Skype or Mumbo to save costs.. I still stand on the fact that online gaming should be free.......
Another way to save costs would be to let consumers do a little bit of the groundwork I. e. offer something similar to green light and early beta access. I like the old model of having to play online for free with all the other stuff as gravy for a charge. Now so basically is possible to play online games for free via peer to peer servers and free to play games right. Umm I also wanted to know why not let gamers run their own servers it also saves them time and money. It has worked for P...
Jack Trenton did not state about having to pay to play online. I don't know were people got that information.
I miss that, let me see the conference again. I don't recall Sony for adding a pay wall for online gaming. The other bit of notion is will non-playstation plus members (like me) will be able to carry over their psn account purchases and friends. I am the only only one excited for killer instinct (which is not made by Rare the creators of the original killer instinct), Destiny, and watch dogs. I don't know this E3 event was decent but Microsoft is still not officially c...
Well written article and yes is time for games to grow up in terms of story that is integral to the game play.
Wow simply beautiful hopefully gamers wake up and fight back against the corporations that try to use its customers as wallets.
"Why is it someone else's responsibility to look out for your future?"
Basically what one group of people do or accept the corporations rules and regulations affects the competition. Is like online passes or DlC we as gamers accepted and say it was okay to have them. Now there is no more free unlockables (free skins in WWE games, Resident evil 3 nemesis getting the boutique key and play Jill Valentine dress up, tekken able to unlock hidden characters, n...
Aaaaaarghhhh!!!! Always with speak with your wallet. Well that's easy for those that are informed of Microsoft xbox one restrictions. Well what about those that are uninformed; that's exactly why blogs and YouTube videos are done to spread the word in regards to issues like this. I mean game journalism is terrible plus very uninformative, besides I completely understand that the gaming industry is a business. I do want to point out that from 1995-2005 console gamers receive...
I will buy this game and conclude for myself whether is art or not. Now if any game can be considered art is Miasmata yes is an indie game ; however, is a survival game and the story will challenge the player in its ambiguity.
