I fully respect your opinion and while building a PC may cost $800.00-++ during a regular day; whereas, during a holiday like cyber Monday it may cost around $500.00 to build a gaming PC. It's possible to finance the parts for your PC along with building your PC piece by piece My argument is 1080p resolution is a standard resolution for mid range PC that even includes 60 frames per second for certain games. Ultra settings is basically 2000*1200 resoluti...
Yes that is true and really they don't want to talk about the loss of free unlockables, cheat codes, the rarity of map editors on consoles (almost every xbox/ps2 shooter, x sport like snowboarding, etc had a map editor), the lack of mini games. All of this has become DLC ugh.
Ultra settings for a PC game is basically 2500p resolution or 2000*1920 resolution. The frame per second is 90, 120, even 200 frames per second. That's ultra settings, 1080p and 60 frames per second is high or mid range settings for a PC game usually high settings. In some cases high settings is possible to get 90, 80, 70 or 100 frames per second. I play on PC and 1080p is pretty much a given as far as PC gaming goes 60 frames per second though does require a mid r...
Well said but it worries me that console gamers must pay to play online via xbox live gold or PS Plus. My worry is what happens if say game developer shut down the servers of say online game do you as a consumer get a refund no, is not like PC were in certain situations the PC gamer can still play the online portion of say game via private servers like Halo 2, Phantasy Star Online, etc. This also explains the shift of mmo from pay to play into free to play.
Goodness gracious this blog is full of crap, first off the PC for once has major advantages like free online gaming, full backwards compatibility, steep low low price for games (counter attack piracy due to game developers either lower the price of their games or see their games being pirated plus with the wii u as a current generation console developers have no choice but to support the pc because the more platforms their product is on the more profit and revenue they make). To top it ...
It failed due to lack of games and marketing campaign. Just the ability to play ps one games did not help the xperia play at all plus poor marketing does not help either.
That is due to the fact that the xperia play only allowed the user to play ps one games not psp games or vita games. If Sony would of transfer and continue to supply games like vita style games market it for the xperia play; Sony would of been profiting and taken control of the mobile market not only besting Nintendo but also besting it's smartphone competition.
That is exactly what everyone expect the vita to do from the start. So your statement is on point pretty much you nail it on the head.
That is not the issue, the issue is the mobile market consumer reduces to buy console like gaming. That's the real issue Nintendo knows this which is why the 3DS gaming library to is composed of old school games and casual games with very few and rare console like games.
I don't know the 3DS has a large library similar to that of a smartphone gaming library ; whereas, the vita is the only mobile device to offer console like gaming on the go. Sadly console like gaming does not work for people on the go. Besides smartphone gaming offers more than angry birds and candy crush here is a few games worth your while :
Contra revolution
Final Fantasy dimensions
Asphalt franchise
Lots and lots of emul...
Very truthful article I really don't want to see a repeat of this generation of video game parity due to both PC gamers and PS3 gamers got royally screwed thanks to Microsoft publishing policy.
That is what I am afraid of that developers give in to Microsoft ridiculous policies by gimping the competition versions of say game due to the technical deficiencies of say Microsoft console.
I wish that were true but Microsoft unlike Nintendo has deep pockets of money, it also doesn't help that they own direct x due to it can prevent developers from releasing the PC version at its full potential content, etc.
Interesting blog. I am a huge fan of indies check out "to the moon", "Lucius", or Miasmata. ......
Basically is like this if you want to have control of your gaming experience or even make your own games go with a PC ; however, if you want a multi billion dollar corporation dictate your gaming experience or not technically minded go with a console for now What I mean by that is 5-10 years from now all you will have to do is pay for the service like xbox live gold or Plus as app for your television set.
Well said
I respect your opinion but is not that expensive if and only if you are technically minded. Which is a huge barrier for PC gaming. Meaning is about buying the cheapest, low watt, high performance parts.
True that is the biggest downside for smartphones/tablets. Say what will happen if Sony or Nintendo brought a gaming tablet with physical buttons. Similar to say the wii u gamepad would you buy it.
Okay what do you mean
I am not so sure about this, well the Windows OS is needed. So is it an evolution to big picture mode or is adding a gaming console into my PC lol.
