Also another feature people are MAJORLY overlooking is this will support services like netflix and hulu which is a MASSIVE plus if you don't have a PS3 to play it on the big screen.

Honestly, I think this will have a bigger impact than most believe, that extra week that Sony has will help them A LOT to restock their supplies for black friday whereas Microsoft only have a week. Lets say they meet demands for the preorders but they only have a week before millions of people will be potentially wanting to buy a console and as Sony has more time to restock and more supplies then that is a chance for more sales to be made.

Comparing the two is kinda the point of competition and rivalry. It ensures that what you are buying is better than whats out there.
Actually, it may do, Sony have a whole 2 weeks to restock before the frenzy of black friday whereas Microsoft only have one. This difference could really determine how many units each are able to sell.
Also bear in mind those people that cannot wait any longer to get their hands on the new COD for instance so that week is more substantial than most believe it to be.
