Im not sure LBP would work in 3D, they should try it but I think it should be optional or at least made clear, part of its charm was that it was 2.5D and I really dug that.

Well they don't really need to be... they are rechargeable, the fact that it still uses Batteries in 2013 is insane, I would have thought that this should have been one of these so called "improvements" to the controller.

I do agree that power bricks are not really a massive problem but when the competition does not need one then thats just another advantage to be had.
Another thing to bear in mind is that everyone uses their console differently, some move it around a lot or have it packed into suitcases. That power brick, for them, will be a major turn off for buying the system.
