Sounds about right
Nostalgia is definitely a big part.
For me GTA Vice City and San Andreas came out just before I was a teenager and the concept of such an open world to me had never been done before. Buying properties, business, houses etc. I think that's why I love them so much because it was such a leap forward from what had come before.
Don't get me wrong GTA V has amazing new features but the concept of an open world game like this has been done over and over so ...
Initially it was price.
I had such good performance from my first AMD PC and have since upgraded the GPU from an Asus 5770 to a Sapphire 6950 2GB and and run nion everything on maximum at 1080p. Therefore I have never been able to justify paying the extra for Nvidia hardware as I can't see I would gain as much of a leap in performance in relation to the additional cost.
Also most likely comes down to a simple case of familiarity. I'm not averse to Nv...
Looking forward to trying tonight. Stopped playing before because of the poor performance.
Even on low settings at 1080 couldn't get above 45fps and would frequently drop to 30.
My specs aren't ground breaking but considering I could run BF3 on Very High/ultra at a steady 50fps+ I was expecting to run BF4 on Medium at a solid 60fps with no drops. Hopefully by final release this will be the case.
If I was to get one it would be with AMD hardware, so I am pleased to hear this.
Just an AMD fan, no other real reason
Of course it was going to be an all PC list given the age of the consoles. I agree a second list should be done for current gen consoles, then of course The Last of Us and GTA V will be high up there.
For me though Tomb Raider maxed out with TressFX was one of the best visual experiences I've had, it should have been far higher. Bioshock infinite deserves a place, but as the guy said, I don't think that high. Landscapes and buildings are some of the best I've see...
If they added Women's teams to the game no would would be complaining ...
I'd have developed the PC version for free for them.
Wouldn't have been very playable though
the Screenshots don't really show any difference.
However if you play the same game at 720p then 900p then 1080p the difference is huge.
If you can squeeze it out then 1080 is the way to go, Bioshock infinite just looks gorgeous.
@The_Infected
Yes the PS4 has a unified architecture which will make it more efficient. However I haven't seen any evidence to suggest it will be 'twice' as efficient as a PC.
Are you are liking efficiency to performance? If so then you are basically saying it would take a PC equivalent to two PS4's to perform as good as a single PS4.
@JackVagina
Those games are awesome, especially for me, The Last of Us, and are a huge technical achievement, ...
People will still enjoy it.
Think their concern is paying the money for the PS4 and not getting the performance out of it that should comfortably being achieved.
short changed if you will.
Had a good laugh playing BF3 on PS3 so would be tempted if I do get a PS4.
Initially though going to enjoy the PC version.
Beta for me is terrible though, Can't get more than 40 fps on low settings, so just going to wait for the proper release.
Given the power of the PS4 they should should comfortably be getting 60fps at 1080p.
If they don't do it then either there is an unexpected learning curve, or the machine is really not that powerful.
Can't understand why they are struggling, as the PS4 stacks up as a pretty powerful machine that should be more than capable.
How can anyone disagree with his comment. This is his personal experience based on the people he knows.
Game on whatever platform you wish, more than one if you can.
They all have their merits.
Just enjoy Gaming
@dantesparda and Andrewsqual
I can see your point re the struggle to get games out at 1080/60. The only small justification I can see is that they have not had the complete tech for long. However the development of next gen releases was done using PC's so this should not have been such an issue. Broken down the PS4 seems like a "pretty good" PC yes (given its component equivalents). However the unified nature appears to make it pretty "beastly" at this point (a...
I thought that. I know the PS4 architecture is different and its all unified and what not but still the PC recommended specs are far above what the PS4 is packing in terms of raw CPU and GPU power.
Either way, time for an upgrade
Looks interesting
Yeah PC is 5.5GB ish.
Downloaded ready for tonight.
This game went massively under the radar. I bought it a few years after when I watched a 'great games that went under the radar' video.
Got it the next day and still hold it to this day
