I think that these machines will appeal to those console gamers who are willing to spend a little bit more that £350 - £450 on a console. Those who now have or have had an interest in PC gaming but found it a bit of a daunting prospect.
We will see though, to me they are a stepping stone to a new living room open platform system.

For £55 on Steam for PC I got Bioshock Infinite, Hitman Absolution, Portal 1 and 2, Fallout New Vegas and Sleeping Dogs.

Yes I agree putting a disk in a console and just playing is great (I do it myself, and have done since I was 10, But I also play on PC and your view on PC's is completely misguided and I can only assume biased.
Just coming on here and seeing an article where PC gamers are having a bit of a hard time, lets tuck in and give them some stick, this sucks, that sucks, bloody miserable attitude.
I'm just not really excited for it. It looks great but it doesn't seem to do anything new in game play terms than KZ 3. Yeah they've added the BOT and a few touch pad features but to me I think it will be like KZ3 with a different setting, better visuals but gamplay will be a bit flat. MP will be the best part of this game for me.

As a huge fan of sci-fi and anything set in space, combined with Naughty Dogs abilities gets me pretty excited.
I hope the final release version is better than the beta with all its patches. Was running a quad core, 8GB RAM and 2GB 6950 and couldn't get over 45 fps on low. Ive never bothered with beta's before though so I'm hoping it was just that .... :/ (although my current rig is 'not great' should be able to get 60fps on low/med settings like on BF3.

Article misses the point. G-Sync may well undermine the next gen technology, yes. But people play consoles for the ease of it and various other reasons and they will continue to enjoy the new consoles.
PC gamers will enjoy 'Mantle' and 'G-Sync' etc to improve their experiences and will continue to game on PC for the positives.
As a seasoned Console gamer (now PC and console gamer) I have also shared these unique experiences on PC which I never had over 15 years on consoles. Stalker being one of them. It was also the first game I'd ever played with KB/M and at 60fps so I was almost mesmerized the whole way through.
Both platforms offer great experiences and everyone should experience both. Playing FIFA with 4 of your boys on console with a dominoes can't be beaten!

Mike is 100% correct, every game being released on both next gen consoles should comfortably be 1080p. Proof will be in the pudding, people can talk about it all day endlessly.
I don't know Mike on here but I can only assume that he was speaking as a PC gamer, referring to both next gen consoles.

It matters to some and doesn't to others, 1080p does look better than 720p.
