These first few reviews are giving low scores solely due to the price and therefore feeling conned, which is part of a game review, the price to value must be weighed up. Fortunately the gameplay stacks up to other MGS games and so the game is great, but the value, as it is effectively not a game is very poor. Therefore the Phantom Pain, so long as it is as long as other MGS games should be outstanding as they all are. Disappointed in Konami though I have to say.

Approaching from a completely neutral standpoint as I dont have a PS4 yet and won't be getting this game, at least for now. The E3 version overall does look better. I think the new lighting is quite overpowering and hides the details. The E3 version is a far more natural light allowing shadows and texture details to standout. So I think it has been slightly downgraded yes but it isn't huge.

Previous gen specs were holding back multi platform games. Devs simply ported the games to PC with slightly enhanced visuals and features but most were poorly optimised. Some devs pushed PC's still like Ubisoft with Far Cry 3, 4A Games with Metro Last light, Crytek with crysis 3 etc.
Now though with the current gen being in line with if not above the specs of the 'average' 'gaming' PC, devs work from this foundation (specs) up so yes the next gen specs wi...

I'd rather not have to buy a PS4 as I've invested quite a lot into my PC, but I might have to if it doesn't come to PC. Sure it would be worthwhile for future titles from Naughty Dog etc anyway

My hype for this game has built and built, looking for a new MP experience so I'm looking forward to this on PC now.
Next Gen should have meant 1080p at a steady 30fps not a problem, even 60fps for a lot of titles. Especially given all the hype of how powerful these machines are. I know it is early days but still.
but I agree that 1080 to 900 is minimal and the frame rate and graphical effects, level of detail and how a game plays are far far more important. I would opt for the one which plays better, in this case XB1. Still getting a PS4 at this point though
