Yeah, I would argue they did this to please themselves. Even when the two versions are equal they always make it a point to lead all opinions related to the PS3 with its weakness.
Also, why in the world did they bother even listing Orange Box and Madden 08 while forgetting Devil May Cry 4?
Yeah, I think Japanese developers are simply more humble.
It's a stupid article, they make it seem like the only expense SCE has is the manufacturing of the PS3. They also have to fund all the games they are publishing in addition to advertisements.
Yeah, it's a shame Sony doesn't start its own RPG development studio in Japan. They could buy Level 5 but it may be difficult since Level 5 has been trying to become more independent by publishing its own lower cost DS titles.
I hope this happens. Without Tales of Vesperia and Eternal Sonata, the only reasons left for a 360 on a JRPG fan like me are Lost Odyssey and Infinite Undiscovery.
I just want something simple to keep track of my stats of what games I play more for my own amusement. Either way the sooner these novel approaches hit from Sony, the sooner they can get to work on making them better.
Hmm, my response to this article would have just been: "Jeez join the club, you're the millionth member we are out of T-Shirts".
Personally I don't see how we can get around opinionated articles that are against nothing. N4G would become pretty boring if every article is always neutral and never reaches any conclusion about anything.
It's a really poor list that forgets the PS3 is advertised as a gaming console first and foremost. Obviously it has a lot of processing power and will consume more power than your avg Blu Ray player. But you get any and all BD updates and a system like no other. Besides, are any of these criticisms real negatives ever since 2.20 firmware update?
The startup time for even a top-end laptop is way too long compared to WinXP. Also a simpler SKU like the Mac OSX would be great too.
Probably not in the US until the economy picks up.
Or simply, it wasn't put completely into context.
That 1UP preview strongly suggested you play through MGS4 first before going onto MGO.
I'm definitely more excited about Valkyrie Chronicles now. They gave a preview about this. I just hope the Japanese audio stays in the NA release.
Yeah this article is very uninformative since it doesn't make any distinctions between graphics engines, motion engines, and game engines (contains everything). It's too simplistic and dumbs down the key features of each.
Yeah I don't get the point of him saying all that. Either his nickname is flamebait or he is hoping some consumer-level newspaper or website would quote him without doing the proper research and give MS some good PR.
It definitely is catchy. It really makes the PS3 seem highly interactive and shows a lot of the features of the PS3 that most consumers don't know. I only wonder whether shorter (10 sec) versions of this commercial can get the point out just as well.
If they manage to really wipe out RRoD, I'll probably consider getting a 360 this christmas.
Off topic though, MS either has a problem with finding codenames or are good at poking fun at themselves. "Jasper" and "Valhalla" all relates to the dead or afterlife.
IGN does say MS published it; I wonder this is a tactic to lower the PS3's avg metacritic score.
It depends on who owns the license to those games.
It certainly feels possible. I just picked up Monster Hunter Freedom 2nd and Brave Story thanks to that Gamestop sale, and I have to say I am impressed with these PSP games I've overlooked. I think there are a lot of PSP titles that are under appreciated.
