Cool, all games are optional... but due to their predatory marketing tactics in a game... they are now a billion dollar business...
I think the fans have more than paid for this and then some.
They are marketing this game non-stop..
Just not about the campaign.
And now we are getting first impressions without getting to see it in action.
This type of approach always has lead to a subpar game.
Let’s revisit crackdown 3 shall we?
It is getting the same type of hype of actually not showing off the game other than what is dependable to fans.. multiplayer/co-op. The EASIST part to make.
Look, cool, topic over...
...
@ixeasy.. link it.
Then I will gladly count the seconds of actual gameplay for ya.
Cutscenes are not gameplay
I can’t wait to see it in action. :/
These sales pitches with next to no gameplay of the campaign is the very definition of marketing hype to sell the game before anyone realizes what the game is.
I mean, if we go by the last twenty years of gaming as a reference... this has ALWAYS been the issue.
Well, there are those that buy the sales pitch.. and it is looking good tor those players.
Well, that is why innovation and creativity exists I guess.
Will it be the best version ever? No...
But the requirements change as developers and programmers streamline the technology.
That is literally how it works.
Look at what it takes to get 4K now vs 4 years ago...
heck, 10 years ago you would of needed liquid cooled hardware to do what the ps4 does now.
Saying that, I’m cool with a small steps... we ALL remember when light...
Agreed.
They had to, for this first time, make an open world engine.. and who knows what it would do if they had time to improve etc...
Now, the engine he is using, is fully designed and well experienced with with horizon zero dawn.
Ie he does not need to focus on building the engine AND the game.
I do agree that his first attempt was flat...
So it is nice to know this is his second open world game with lessons learnt
Sport is awesome for what it is...
However, polygon built a whole new engine and the tech is still being worked on...
I understand it is easy to praise a cookie cutter because it release the same game over and over with rotations of maps and cars...
But this engine polygon has designed does more for things other than gaming.
Repetitive old engines with new makeup does not make anyone king.
Gt7 will be most likely in two years w...
Well, it’s not like Microsoft has to pull many exclusives.
Microsoft wants a monthly fee more than anything else.
They can care less about competition as long as the competition is not trying to change the face of computing.
That was their concern with Sony and the rise of Apple and google at the time...
As long as Sony plays nice, then Microsoft will focus on what they want most.. faces staring at screens for a monthly fee while they ...
“Plays as”...
But not nearly as epic as the older battlefields.
To me, it was a step back two gens.
There were so many epic moment had in bf3/4 for me vs what these versions are.
Calling in air support from an Apache, that my team mate is flying, to get in a fight with a tank that rolled up on a control point we are taking and having a 2 v 8 gun fight on the ground is/was epic.
Blowing out a wall while baiting a helic...
No.
They actually created technology for their system instead of gluing together cheap pc parts..
And you also seem to forget that Microsoft had the exact same asking price once you made the console up to par like proper tv connectors etc. even to watch a hd dvd you had to spend another $100 where as the PS3 was a package deal.
And you all forget there were 2 PS3s at launch. A base and a ps2/ps3 higher model.
If anything, it points out Microsoft was robbin...
@DaDrunkenjester
The trailer with maybe 15 seconds of gameplay? Maybe.
I saw it.
Articles like this..
Pvp/co-op is average at best per a lest gen feel..
And where is the campaign?
Pre-orders, check
Deluxe editions, check
Special edition merchandise, check.
No sign of the campaign.. cool
Got written all over it.
It’s steam... which is offered on more than Windows.
Mainly cutscenes.. so it depends on what you do not want to see.
About 15 second of gameplay.
You are right.. they make them with the same mentality of real world marketing but without having to make physical products.
$20 for a skin and you use the free to play drag and drop map from an already existing game engine to justify the ridiculous monetization and marketing approach?
😬 ouch.
I mean, I realize there are thousands that think like you, due to the success.. but really?
The only thing that spending money on these games does is push m...
“Do not sell what the consumers want, make the consumers buy what you are selling.”
Bill Gates
They lost because they were not making any relevant games.
Their announcement stage presentation was exactly the same as the previous 4 years. A halo tease, a forza, a fabled, and cod.... the only difference was a gears of war because they did not make or own the game... they then bought the rights to get it back into the loop.
They lied about “cloud power”, teased with 4K while the console, in no way, could ever provide that resolution, and they did their third party monopo...
Via what expectations?
Not saying what he makes is for “everyone”... but his name rings loud for a reason.
So are you referring to those clueless about his games?
Those brain dead cod players who help raise $800 million in micro transactions in two months on a re-skinned repetitive yearly release? Possibly...thinking is hard for some.
But, there is not one single Sony game that has someone, verbatim, saying what you say... and the success has pret...
Yeah.. but a lot of fluff reviews on there as well.
There is a huge trend of Microsoft’s games getting polarizing reviews.
See crackdown 3, sea of thieves, etc..
I mean, when they even bring up “game pass” to boost a score.. definitely some shill work going on.
