If tvs are released monthly for streaming video...
There will still be a need for consoles.
Regardless, we need a device to provide the best case scenario dedicated to its needs.
Home PCs might, keyword might, see an increase per some of the gaming community, but over all home PCs are still declining for your average home.

So unless every game provider partners with tv manufacturers to be able to provide a healthy gaming environment AND the averag...

Sony built their tech...
it’s not like they stuck with old hardware just upgraded.
You could not also get a Xbox 360 with the exact same bells and whistles for less than $600 and that was just old pc parts.
If anything, it benefited Microsoft as far as profit goes since they charged the same amount.
Remember, the cheap 360 did not even come with a hard drive.

@kiwi
Gears, gta exclusive content, mass effect, tomb raider, titanfall, dead rising(several), ping, etc...
Last gen and this gen Microsoft has made timed exclusives deals..

They will do it again.
How do you really think Microsoft plans to fight back with next gens release?
A new game? Backwards compatibility? Then you would be play this gen again... of which was mostly last gen that was worth talking about...

Your tom...

If you are getting killed by a loot box gun, you laugh. That simple.
No one has a spotless k/d in any game...
You try to survive as long as you can.. spawn, and do it again.
Great.
The best case scenario,. you can be excellent at a FPS and get sponsored.. and if you are good enough to get sponsored, you are not dying to loot box weapons...
You get nothing out of gaming in life...

If players did not spend money on loot boxes, t...

“Competition is a good thing.”

The confirmation will come about a month after release... or, at least if we go by their history.
Their words mean nothing.

To any hardcore fan, the state of d2 is trash.
2 strikes added to the base grind that is way over a year old is not good.

Saying that, if someone has not played ever or for a very long time.. now would be a good time and actually have value...
but if players wasted their time grinding the crap out of the game, had their armor that they spent a year perfecting only to have it immediately become useless, no new weapon pool to grind, AND the exact same base w...

And this cod has the worst micro transactions in the history of cod.
On a free to play game that no one will ever own any of the items.
Disgusting times in gaming for sure.

Ehhhh...
Predatory marketing tactics are sharply designed.
I knew as soon as wow starting making news with players selling hard to get items etc for absurd amounts of money... gaming developers would capitalize on this.

What is most disturbing to me... is that most of these games are nothing without server support.
Ie players are throwing their money at these things... for zero return in monetary value.
Destiny, for an example.. servers ...

It is not traffic, it is them switching to their internal service and steam.
They shut down the servers because it is being investigated.

People who do not waste money on things that have/offer little in return?

2341d ago 13 agree1 disagreeView comment

It is still revenue.
That revenue came from d2 launch mainly.
An absurd amount of copies sold and is being accounted for in the “sales” of the game.

They have a contract with a Chinese company for the other game they are making.
Destiny is now their only independent franchise.

2342d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Could you just imagine spending on a game you do not even own?
Renting a game AND micro transactions makes no sense.

So is the article trying to say that any tv connected to the internet is going to be strong enough for 4K 60fps?

Wrong audience article.
The living room/bedroom tv is not going to bring an experience to their TVs.. and they are not going to go out and buy a cheap pc that can display said game on a tv just to pay to use google stadia.

Absolutely zero sense what do ever.

2344d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

This gen as well.
Microsoft just has not had the pull to do more with AAA games... but their last two e3s saw a bunch of timed exclusives.

2344d ago 12 agree2 disagreeView comment

But what is great is their evolution.
They are creating depth each iteration of their stories.
Not saying you are wrong, because you are 100% correct.... BUT.. they could easily push new boundaries with the story and characters.
That is what separates the last of us.
I mean.. they not only gave every single npc unique identities, but npc’s react to these identities... this is absolutely crazy depth wise.

That is literally how they made a dent in the market...
Did it exist before? As in any other business? Yes. To what extent?
There are also A LOT of misconceptions of games that were signed to be exclusive vs other hardware designed differently like the whole tomb raider exclusivity of Sony back in the day. Hardware dictated, not a “deal”.

That fact that you do not is the sad part.

Once again... you are referring to people commenting... ...

So.. realistically... what is the “accountable”?

Micro transactions/loot boxes? They lead the path, so why would they be last to be held accountable? I mean, ea has taken most of the fire while activision was not only already doing it, but are far worse?

Third party deals?
Once again, Microsoft, activision, ea should have all been held accountable when this all started. Do you expect Sony just to lay down? What happened to “competition is a good...
