Well… Microsoft has gone a decade without making any new exciting AAA ip’s and that decade was not boring on PlayStation…and that is the only competition per that market
Soooo🤷🏻‍♀️

More hardware than software though..
That is the down side of Nintendo and why it actually should not be compared as a home console. It lacks a lot as far as the gaming world goes via support.
It is its own thing.
Not a bad thing..

Name that almighty exclusive on pc or Xbox that can not run on PlayStation 3?
Frames/pixels is one thing…
But gen defining is the entire game engine.. and for the last 10 years, Sony is the only company that has pushed limits.

Ummm.. AAA NEW IP, it has been over a decade. Not a year

30 years for pc… where are the games that can not run on console?

1682d ago 3 agree1 disagreeView comment

They bought the exclusives…
When Sony finally got into the gen and fought back… Microsoft’s true offerings started to stand out.
They did not get “arrogant”.. they did not make games. Still evident today.

Without the activision cod exclusive deals when it was huge, ea’s mass effect & gears.. they would not have had the same effect commercially.

Marketing and exclusivity deals due to Sony being a year late.
Ea, activision etc all got a lot of money from Microsoft.

Mass effect, gears were some big hitter that were bought.

If only Nintendo did not have a long history of minimal updates to hardware…. Then the point trying to be made would be understandable..
But history does prove this whole point wrong.

Free Demos are pro consumer.
Subscription services that offer games that ring the same tone of your description of this game is anti consumer.
I get the sales pitch, but it ruly makes no sense.
If a developer has confidence in their game, they will do such things as demos AND then sell the game before it enters a subscription service. 99% of the time

Everyone misses the fact that in the last three gems, counting this new one..
Every game can run on the hardware.
It is literally just the assets that makes a game look good that has been upgraded for most developers.
Crysis can run on the ps3, PS4 & ps5… how good it looks plus hii oh w well it runs is the difference.
Call of duty’s core engine is still the 1998 engine.
The added assets is due to hardware.

We want to see adva...

100% this
A players time is not respected due to bungie trying to capitalize on a “players time” financially.
Your comment is exactly the issue with the game…
However.. what it does right, via addiction.. is untouched amongst other looter style games.

The only consistent great thing about destiny is the game engine.
PvP has not been updated for two years and counting.
Pve core grind has not been updated outside of one strike for two years.
The activities and loot do not respect the players time.
The armor is next to impossible to get s-tier stat builds on leaving players with low possibilities per each activity vs having builds for each activity.
To date… destiny consumers have lost access to m...

He’s a salesman.
Microsoft is all about marketing what needs to be said at the moment.
They contradict themselves every 6 months. 😂😂

Direction via output.
Microsoft wants drag and drop game engines connected with other players to create the dependency of playing with friends is what gaming is about.
This, of course, leads to cheaper development and leans into their bread and butter… subscriptions.
Nothing wrong with it… it is a space that can be filled.
IF one of Microsoft developers knocks out an awesome idea for a single player AAA game.. then we will randomly see them. But their foc...

I think you are more confused with Microsoft buying games for exclusivity and getting “credit” for “making” games. Ie monopolizing more than contributing.

As far as buying studios..
There is a very long snail trail of dead developing companies purchased and dismantled under Microsoft… I would just be nervous from being bought by Microsoft.
Obviously not those that are cashing in, but the entirety of the employees.

To ask this question legitimately.
The current market usually and majority does not match the quality of a Sony title.
The last decade plus.. marketing has tried to fluff a lot of effects of gaming to mimic Sony’s output to drown out the quality.

I absolutely love that this is trying, key word “trying” to pin this on Sony when the market is dictating the prices…

But, all major developers are only trying to to ride the coattails of Sony’...

@thereal
To be fair..
Ea has always rented out servers.
They do this to push more servers.
So it does impact them financially or they would not have taken said avenues in bf3 & bf4
To the point that finding ea severs was not easy

They spent more time lying to consumers did the last decade and doing pr spins on average at best games..
And you are trying to call out the internet?
Microsoft LOVES consumers like you.

1695d ago 3 agree1 disagreeView comment

Well... then have these businesses stop lying to us about the actual products!
When multi billion dollar businesses lie to consumers continuously all for the sake of impulse purchases is absolutely nothing to stand up for.
The reason there is a stigma about the all talk is due to the reality for the last two generations.

Numbers for Microsoft were never released so you can not make that comparison..
We do know Microsoft lost 50% of their market and Sony grew their by 20% from the previous gen.
This can go off the guesstiments and their subscriptions services combined.
Do the math and that 3 to 1 scenario seems more than plausible.
