I hope this is a fad just like motion control was with the Wii and the casuals, Mobile F2P will not cease to exist, but we will not get the onslaught of developers trying to jump wagon for some quick casual bucks.
The thing about Casuals is that something new to catch their attention (and $$$) will always come, not a good basket to put all your egss.
I think we are starting to see a new direction for Square Enix this generation, hope i'm not wrong, about the only mistake they made was the tumble with the FFVII announcement, I think they didn't even realize that people would take them so literal for those few seconds.
A new Silent Hill by the team that made Siren (screw you Konami), NOW THAT would be something else in the horror department.
I'm going to be the one to say it, The Last Guardian (I SURE HOPE SO and sorry).
I want to buy it at this price, but i'm still waiting to see if they will at last announce a Mass effect Trilogy Remaster for Ps4, about the only remaster I want.
Edit: Already have them for Xbox360, but wouldn't be bad an all digital edition for the Ps Trophies.
I love how always in opinion pieces they give importance only to what they want, he even names a lot of games that are coming only for ps4, but gives zero relevance to them so he can prove his SONY HAZZZZ N0 GAIMEZZZZ!!! theory:
"While Tearaway is coming to the PS4, which will please the 25 people who bought the Vita version"
"Again, they still have the market cornered with RPGs, with Disgaea and Persona 5 probably getting a Western release dat...
The sad part is that they won't even sell their IP'S, we will have to see them runned to the ground by mobile pay-to-win versions of everything we once hold dear.
Love this generation of games, contrary to popular belief I think we are entering a new golden age with digital distribution, small studios troughout the world are making games, all kind of games, developers that grew playing what I grew playing.
The perfect example is "Midgar Studio", you just know what games they were playing when they were young. Another example is a brazilian developer called Swordtales, if you go to the playstation blog they are promoting an Ic...
I want a new Legacy of Kane: Soul Reaver game, but more like the first one on the PSX, where you could hurt enemies with the sun and spike them to walls, the 2 dimensions and how the world changed with that, the different ways to kill bosses using your surroundings, The ones that came after lost a lot in my opinion.
I think we will see MM new game at Gamescom, at e3 they will show tearaway unfolded in a reel footage with the release date so as to not canibalize their own game.
Make a Metroidvania game with 2d HD art like the Guilty Gear series and i'm SO sold, that's the castlevania game we need and deserve.
That's just so collectors have to buy it again.
You can finish the game any way you want, it's already being said that much and Human Revolution almost did this as well (with the exception of the outsourced Boss Battles).
Does the trailer looks violent? YES, but we live in a world where if you don't promote your games like this you won't get much sales judging by the most successful games every year, the important thing is that when you play it you DO have the choice to do the silent run or not, whatever you fa...
I really liked FFXII, it had great characters (if we remove Vaan), great world and really good and different gameplay, about the only thing I didn't like was how the espers were used, I can't think of a single place where using an espers was better than your party.
Having said that, FFXV looks AWESOME, and after the travesty that was XIII, with the worst cast of characters of all FF, this is looking like a big step up. Everything I read about this game makes it better...
We have a lot of JRPGS coming that are going to be turn based, they could even make FFXVI turn based for all we know, I'm a big supporter of changing things up from game to game, even FFXIII had a different but really good battle gameplay (about the only good thing in the game, that and the art direction, everything else was a convoluted mess).
If this game will make not only a great game, but also a great Final Fantasy game it will not be because the Battles are turn bas...
I do the same thing, I take part of my vacation time for E3, THANK GOD for high bandwith internet, now I can stream EVERYTHING.
Still remember when internet videogame pages were a little bit more than a very rudimentary blog, the most you could see was a not very pig picture with terrible quality.
It sounds really good to have a not teen JRPG lead with a 23 years old Protagonist, hope his personality reflects that.
This generation could really become a second coming for JRPGS, love the genre.
If he doesn't explicitely say what are these "Certain Parity Policies", it could be anything from anti developers policies (doubt it), to obvious things like having matching prices for the software published at the time of launch in all consoles.
I have a Vita, Playstation 3 and a playstation 4 (and an xbox 360), it'a amazing value when having all the playstation ecosystem and most importantly it has allowed me to play games big and small that I wouldn't have played in any other case, games I fell in love with, from developers that I will for sure buy their next game.
Games Like Deus Ex: Human Revolution (My first Platinum), played the first Deus Ex on PC ages ago but never had much trust for this relaunch, Ho...
I plan to platinum this game, but i'm first waiting for the inevitable patch to make this game actually platinable, and a better overall experience, I tend to give small indie developers a little bit more room when it comes to a game being bug free, so many backlog games to play to give them the time to be able to experience the game as they intended.
