I would like to know how much does it cost the publisher per DVD9 disk and how much it cost per Blue-Ray disc.
Case: $50-$100
Power supply: $30-$50
2 Gigs of RAM: $150-$200
DVD Drive: $20-$30
Motherboard + Processor(High End): $500-$600
Video Card (High End): $500-$650
Sound Card: $30-$50
Highest End Price: $1680
Thats still not $5000
The fact that GFW-Live isn't supported by Valve, Blizzard, or Crytek is a pretty good reason to stay away from it.
Basically what some people do is they get many multiple accounts and they pay people to collect in-game currency by killing monsters, selling items,ect...Then they turn around and sell the in-game money to other players at about $5/5000 gold(Warcraft). There are always people willing to pay so they don't have to earn it themselves. Then when this money becomes overabundant item costs skyrocket, forcing honest players to work endlessly to buy Necessary items.
Kick backs perhaps???
I hate gold farmers. They totally destroy MMO economies. Everything becomes so expensive that the only way to afford in-game items is to purchase in-game currency.
Master Cheif is a military rank not a name.
Home is a gateway to Multiplayer games, video, mini-games, trophies. AWOMO is a gateway to what? Is this just Virtual Instant Messaging? Home has a purpose, what purpose does AWOMO serve?
They are making out games to be worse than cigarettes, booze, or porn. This just shows how out of touch politicians are with the constitution.
Everything in moderation....except for sex ;)
Is wether or not it supports mouse aiming....if not I'm going to write this off as another crappy port like DMC3 or Halo.
If your over 18 I suggest signing up at www.videogamevoters.com. They give you email templates to send to your local officials questioning the constatutionality of these bills. Personaly I find it offensive that my tax money is being spent like this. It's only a matter of time before this bill is struck down as unconstitutional, but they keep trying and wasting tax-payer's money. These officals should be removed from office.
I have no doubt that this is false, but I would like to say that I am opposed to any publisher owning the intellectual rights to something that they did not create. This all reminds me of when Vivendi tried to steal Half-Life away from Valve, because they were creating Steam to distribute their games online. Keep the money-men away from our games, pushing dead-lines and vying for creative control.
I love having a PC and a PS3, with these two systems I can get almost every game that is made, and I don't have to worry so much about exclusivity.
It's about time, I didn't know how much longer they could beath that dead horse Doom3 engine. Hopefully they will do a little better than they have been doing lately. Doom3, Prey, Quake4 were all dissapointingly mediocre.
I think besides textures and lighting the biggest differnce is the scale of the games. The Environments in Crysis seem much more grand and elaborate. For some reason when I look at the screens for Haze, I think of Red Faction. I also think the yellow vizors are just a ploy so they don't have to do facial animation.
Until you can simulate a 100vs100 PvP event in a RPG, yes MMO's will be better.
What is your problem with Steam? You buy the games, download them, and play. Where in all of that did you find hate for Steam?
What exactly makes it stupid? The fact that you can use it to feel weight, motion, and texture in a virtual space, or the fact that it blows the Wii out of the water innovation-wise.
I would like to see Mac challenge Microsoft for the PC gaming crown, just please stop making those stupid commercials...they are so pretentious.
