You have the right to choose your own sexual orientation and to express it as you see fit, but other people have equally the same rights to not accept you. People do not have to change their beliefs or feelings because you are or want to be different. Freedom does not equate to equal treatment. Liberty is a double edged sword...learn to live with it.
I like how he rails against the silent protagonist yet he chooses a game like Half Life 2 that totally obliterates his thesis. Choosing a game that has won somewhere around 35 game of the year awards and has sold millions of copies to try and prove that no one likes a silent protagonist proves that he is clueless and has no grasp on game design or what players want. Also to counter his point FPS's with silent protagonists that never take you out of the player's perspective are the most immers...
You may not like what some people have to say, but the last time I checked Free Speech is still a constitutionally protected right. I think if Gay gamers just want to game they shouldn't use the games as a podium to out themselves and scream about their sexual orientation. By choosing the name xxxGayBoyxxx the writer segregates himself. Also if your looking for a mature response to your sexual propaganda an MP game full of 12-22 year olds probably isn't the best place to start.
I believe they said this GPU would run Crysis at about Medium settings. That also means that you could run most other games at near high settings.
I want a Zero Punctuation review of this game, now!
I don't disagree with you hating on haters, but It's almost a foregone conclusion that this game will come out for PC. KOTOR and Jade Empire came out on PC, and Microsoft will release anything for PC, even their flagship game Halo, if they think it will get them more sales.
It's a tech magazine. They do a good bit of console news. As a magazine for techies/gamers I think they are well within their bounds reviewing this game.
PS3 VERSION WILL OWN THE PC VERSION IN EVERY WAY....FICTION. You really think you static hardware, less than optimal control scheme, and second hand mods will "own" the PC version? Stay on your meds.
Good review, and he's got a good point. You can lob complaints about the game all you want, but just try not to get sucked into the the pure Diablo-esq nostalgia of hack/slash item gathering, because you'll never want to stop.
You don't need to be able to play Crysis at full settings to enjoy it. The game is great even at medium settings.
He's complaining about DX10, not Crysis.
Half life's story is told through experiences. Sorry there's no Narrator.
The best the PS2 could do was the original Half-Life, and the original Xbox could only handle HL2 with gimped graphics. Also if all these games were bought apart from each other it would probably cost more like $80. So please feel free to take a break from the site if you start to get tired of being so wrong.
What WarHammer 40,000 game is coming out on PSP? Dawn of War?
Using XP it might be possible. I'm not sure about Vista though. It's a hog.
Going from playing a game like COD4 that is all action and 100% linear to a game like Crysis is a bit jarring. I got used to being told what to do and being led by the hand by NPCs the whole time. So Crysis started off feeling a little slow, but you get used to doing things at your own pace , exploring and completing objectives your own way.
No, not stupid. Just that with the console control scheme for RTS's you can't put quick thought into quick action.
Thats some serious nostalgia right there. I remember having a ghostbuster jump suit and proton pack toy when I was about 3 or 4 years old.
COD4 only wows you once, but every replay is the same and will always be the same. Crysis is a nice break from linear, follow the path, games.
That may be true of XBL, but it isn't true for all online gaming, such as multiplayer PC games.
