Considered the PS2 released of the series were amazing at 60fps, I thought for sure 60fps is a no-brainer with the added power of the PS5. Disappointing as platformer games would benefit tremendously from 60fps. I can't imagine playing Mario Odyssey at 30fps on the switch after it feels so good at 60fps.
Space could potentially be an issue due to the PS5 size. Due to not having a disc on the All digital version of the PS5, PS4 gamers with many disc games going for that sku will still need their PS4 (due to BC incompatibility) on the same self/entertainment center. Size could be an issue.
My PS4 Pro is bigger than my Xbox One X as well so I bigger size does not equal more power.
An opened world game like Red Dead Redemption 2 was native 4K on Xbox One X and 30fps. You you telling me these new consoles with 10 and 12 TFLOPs, RDNA2, Navi CPUs, faster SSD storage, GDDR6 and newer specs can only run games the same as today's consoles at 30fps and 4K? So what is the point in spending money and upgrading if that is the case?
Nobody said all games were not 60fps. I, for one, said, the majority. Which was true based on this Digitalfoundry findings. There were a few games than ran at 4K and 60fps on PS4 Pro too but it is the exception and not the rule on that console. If a game like Red Dead Redemption 2 ran @ native 4K and steady 30fps on a Xbox One X, the new consoles like PS5 and XSX, with better CPU, GPU, SSD and these fancy new tech should be able to run games that are 60fps and high resolution at the same time...
The majority of games shown were 30fps on PS5. Most of us were expecting 4K and 60fps as the standard with the new generation. Weren't they showing off 8K and 120fps with a demo of GT Sport on PS5 hardware last year as a teaser? Disappointing that we will have to sit thru 30fps again on many games for next generation. Also of note is that none of the games shown uses Variable Rate Shading (VRS), which is a key component of RDNA2, according to Digitalfoundry. Is it possible that PS5 is mo...
What is misleading? It came straight from the horse's mouth
Sony's VP head of European Business, Simon Rutter explained: "I guess you could call it an expansion and an enhancement to the previous game. There’s a substantial Miles Morales component – which is the expansion element "

According to the Dirt's developer in this news, the game will not have ZERO load screen on XSX!
"Obviously, that SSD drive is incredible. It’s not like a PC SSD, it’s more than that. Being able to load data so ridiculously fast is not only really impressive but as a developer, it’s very interesting.
For Dirt 5, we’re going to be able to get into races super fast. It means NO LOADING SCREENS getting in the way, no dawdling, no looking at my phone, it m...
This quote got me excited:
"There are loads of things for us to still explore in the new hardware but I’m most intrigued to see what we can do with the new SSD drive and the hardware decompression capabilities in the Xbox Velocity Architecture.
The drive is so fast that I can load data mid-frame, use it, consume it, unload and replace it with something else in the middle of a frame, treating GPU memory like a virtual disk. How much texture data can I now load?...
On PC, ALL games are free to play online without a sub. But hey
Great news from one of my favorite developers. Patiently awaiting Cyberpunk for my Xbox Series X this Winter.
Variable is never better than fixed in the computer world.
Some of you are acting like this "Multi-Platform" middleware engine is exclusive to PS5 or the tech demo that was on display is an actual game for PS5. I mean what if the tech demo was running on PC instead and Mark Cerny responded enthusiastically about the tech coming to PS5. What will some of you say then?
So when did a tech demo considered 'gameplay'.
Did you know the Unreal tech demo running on PS5 was 1440p, 30fps and no next gen tech features like Raytracing in it, according to digital foundry.
Well, UBIsoft also say that AC Valhalla on XSX is Native 4k and run "at least 30fps ( which mean it can and might hit 60fps at launch on XSX)"...meanwhile the PS5 Unreal Engine 5 tech demo is running at Dynamic 1440p, 30fps, and no Raytracing
"the demo was reportedly rendering at 1440p using dynamic resolution and without the next-gen bells and whistles like hardware-accelerated ray tracing, Epic told Eurogamer, and at what looks like only 30 frames per secon...
@Realms
Ubisoft stated AC Valhalla on XSX was running at native 4K and 'at least' 30fps (so it could be 60fps when it is shipped) vs dynamic 1440p and 30fps of UE5 demo on PS5 hardware. Get your fact straight.
The demo was reported to be running at dynamic 1440p and 30fps on PS5 and no raytracing. If that is the case, the XSX will easily beat those specs.

This demo was running at dynamic 1440p and 30fps on PS5 hardware. If this is what the 'preferred console to be showcased on'...then PS5 is in big trouble.
Your points are invalid as Bleeding Edge was already being made when MS aquired Ninja Theory. About Hellblade 2, if you think that is excessive, how many games outside of God of War has Santa Monica studio made since the original GOW on PS2? Also, Rare is already working on Everwild, A BRAND NEW IP. Guess you missed that part too.
And MS has not shown their XSX lineup yet from their 15 internal studios other than Halo Infinite so it is a little premature to have a narrow ...
Fake news.
"Digital Foundry: Given the fact all of your Xbox Series X games must work on a base Xbox One, does that not mean games will be hampered when it comes to design or fidelity because developers will have to develop to the lowest common denominator?
Jason Ronald: Ultimately, that's a developer choice. And to be clear, there will be titles that are unique or exclusive to the Xbox Series X generation. The Medium is a great example of that. But u...
