The title of this brief article suggests that pre-orders of both next-gen consoles are double that of the current generation consoles...
However in the article itself Ubisoft's CEO appears to talking about pre-orders of Next-gen Ubisoft games. He does not mention any source of information for stating that pre-orders for next-gen consoles (with or without deposits) are running 200% higher.
I'm not expressing doubt -- just saying that there's no f...
The headline promises a "discussion". The article does not deliver....
Assassins Creed II for FREE -- may be of interest to some.
I don't have time to play all the games i have now: absorbed in the Halo 4 World Tournament (running for the next 4 weeks) and also The Last of Us.
According to Webster's Dictionary: a conundrum is "a riddle whose answer is or involves a pun. 2. a : a question or problem having only a conjectural answer. b : an intricate and difficult problem."
Doesn't seem that the number of HDMI ports in current TVs qualifies for any of those meanings. As others have noted, the XBox One comes with an HDMI in, and can be linked to an XBox 360 (or anything else with an HDMI cable).
In my case, my Sony...
sounds like a developer's bafflegab -
similar is not "the same as" --
Is Ubisoft stating that its developers are ignoring the next-gen potential of the XBox One and PS4 -- except for adding a few more characters in the crowd scenes?
Will pricing for all versions be "the same"?
I have pre-ordered (with a deposit) a PS4 -- simply because it is the next-generation of a Sony console.
I have also pre-ordered (with a non-refundable deposit) an XBox One.
I am looking forward to the best gaming experiences that these consoles may offer.
end of controversy.
"The verdict is almost unanimous"?
Does that mean there's a hung jury? I would think that the jury will be out until mid-2014 at least -- when one will be dealing with FACTS about consoles sold, games sold, and profits generated.
The author asks will the "Games for Gold" program make you switch teams?
My answer is a resounding NO -- because, as someone interested in the best that all consoles have to offer, video gaming is never an Either/Or choice, but Both/And.
Right now, i have so many games on the go -- from The Last of Us to Gears of War: Judgement and Halo 4 (Multiplayer) -- that I barely have time to notice old freebies.
And with the current game specials th...
Game War?
Are Chevrolets at "war" with Fords?
Is a Kit Kat at "war" with a Mars Bar?
Are bananas at "war" with watermelons?
Competition in business (even cut-throat competition) does not justify using the word "war" casually and carelessly -- and inaccurately.
Nintendo serves its segment of the video game business quite satisfactorily; nothing more, or less. In terms of net revenue, Nin...
title says Mattrick turned it "round" rather than "around" -- if anyone cares about such details.
Looking over these forums, i am struck by the sheer number of posts made by Sony fans; why do they care, so obsessively, with anything that XBox does?
If you don't like something, walk away --- so the XBox is not for you. You don't have to keep saying the same thing 100 times.
I rarely see the reverse-obsession however. As for me, since I am enjoying "The Last of Us" very much on my PS3, and greatly enjoy my multiplayer companions on XBox ...
with all due respect, the merits of XBox One and its games can not be prejudged on the basis of the free games program.
The latter is not being handled well, so far; but that's a separate issue from all things else.
So we were given Fable 3; now this... but where are the second games for June and July?
Surely someone at MS can see that this is being badly handled.
"does Minecraft DESERVE the sales it is still getting?"
A rhetorical question?
Short of polling a representative sample of seven million people who bought the XBox version of Minecraft if they got much enjoyment from it, how can one provide a realistic answer?
In all fields of mass culture, popularity has little to do with merit; and asking if a certain movie, book, or TV show deserves to be popular is pointless.

would have been a more useful "news item" if it had explained exactly what the unlocked content was -- instead of saying it's what you would get if you had bought the special editions.
So here's the missing info: " a new content bundle called "Columbia's Finest" has been released... It includes all the contents of the Industrial Revolution Pack and the Upgrade Pack that originally came as part of BioShock Infinite's Songbird Edition...
The author writes (about the availability of games for both current and next generation consoles) : " Personally, I feel like it causes a load of decisions that I don’t want to make, and grabs a lot of money that I might not want to spend!"
How is having more choices a bad thing? Interested in Battlefield 4? No one is twisting your arm to buy it twice. Or even once, for that matter.
While it is true that there may be a considerable gap between ...
One does not"escort" either of these characters in the traditional sense; they look after themselves -- Elizabeth regularly passes along ammo; Ellie joins the fray and fights.
They are each unique, valuable and impressive in their own way.
No real basis for comparing them --let alone choosing one as "the winner".
not very informative story. We already knew about the availability of Fable 3. Common knowledge by now.
The main point of this article appears to be: "I think that a lot of publishers will design games to be used online heavily, which was a major trend seen at E3. Games like Watchdogs and Titanfall thrive on online interaction, even in single player mode. Another thing they can do is incentivize digital versions of their games; give gamers a reason to buy online instead of on disc. From exclusive in-game items which cost the publishers nothing, to slightly discounted prices."

Personally i would rather have a next-Gen version of GTA5 -- and be done with it. However, that is one game that i am likely to buy twice. First when it is released on Sept 17, and then, whenever a next-Gen version becomes available.
I have already ordered both next-gen consoles for day one -- and anticipate that most of my future purchases will be Next-Gen games. Appears to me that one could get absorbed in Watch Dogs for weeks on end -- and that's just one game coming ...
