Granted, I am not likely to use the RPG editing tools and perhaps not even Multiplayer. Remains to be seen. Perhaps I tended to underestimate the game in both of those respects.

However i disliked the repetitive combat play; never really felt like genuine combat at all; sometimes i would get skeletal archers shooting at me while they were positioned on top or on the side of hills that i could not climb. And i really disliked the Hatfield/McCoy portion with all that silly p...

a rating of 5/5 is a bit on the high side -- even though this game is a welcome addition to the Indie game collection.

you might note that it offers no achievements (not sure why); and. for myself, despite my avatar playing the central character, i never felt that it was involving as a RPG: Sometimes I had to enhance a characteristic (say speech) whether i felt like it or not, simply to complete certain missions...

but given the price, it's good value ...

Maybe having different interests and some time apart is a GOOD thing.

thanks very much. That worked perfectly.

I bought the pass for XBox-- and was able to download the Chicago Piano immediately.

But "Slip of the Tongue" does not show up in my Traffic cases -- (I already had Naked City) -- and can't figure out where or when it will show up.

When i clicked on Slip of the Tongue separately as DLC, I was going to be charged full price (320 more points) , so i did not proceed.

Any advice? Does anyone else have this problem (i.e. any part of...

first paragraph of this article:

"Microsoft finds themselves in a precocious situation this E3."

I suppose the writer means "precarious" -- and Microsoft can't be pluralized into "themselves". Should one bother to continue reading something so carelessly written? I'll take a pass.

This story has an overstated title:
nine per cent of PSN owners in one UK survey is not the same as "nine percent of psn users"

as for the wisdom of jumping ship:
no video console system is perfect; there are and will be difficulties from time to time. I restrict the amount of info I provide to PSN; and keep a wary eye on my XBox.

a few anecdotal reports and there is "absolute mayhem" ??

judging from the story, the person did not upload the discs to his HD to begin with. First thing i did was check my discs and install them - to make sure they worked. (They did and I have nearly completed the game without a single glitch.)

It isn't having 3 discs that created this problem (to whatever extent it IS a problem and not just an exaggeration)... one could have a faulty or inco...

Since I watch virtually all movies and TV programs through high definition torrents, I don't find any appeal in purchasing DVDs or Blu-ray discs for either of my consoles.

The XBox often has timed exclusives (not mentioned in the comments above); and the full potential of Kinect has yet to be achieved; I tried to like LBP and BR (simply because I had a PS3) but their appeal was lost on me; i thought both games had clunky gameplay. To anyone who has both systems, the fa...

There is a great deal in L.A. Noire that deserves respect --- including a script that is far from being just another dumbed-down retread of other games -- but as I near the end of my Vice Desk assignments, I sense that this is not a game that I will love.

Red Dead Redemption was a game that absorbed me deeply; and i will never forget my first run-through of Bioshock. Electrifying! I know that L.A. Noire is a different sort of game and a daring gamble in an industry preoccupi...

Got 60G space on my HD -- so an install will be no problem.
I always prefer to play from an install rather than a disc, no matter which system
I use.

I have enough faith in this game to purchase the DLC content immediately --

I am still a bit wary of the online aspect of PS3... and will wait until i hear more than anecdotal reports on how well it is working.

Now let's all enjoy the art of gaming, and leave political squabb...

I've had my pre-order in for months now... and intend to buy the DLC that's available (for those who have online services) on Day One.

I wasn't crazy about Heavy Rain or Alan Wake...(especially the latter) but I do believe in supporting games with interesting narratives -- and keep waiting for the gameplay to match the storyline instead of being a cumbersome intrusion.

If anyone can make a great leap forward in this department, it's Rockstar! ...

If they are content to have only one console, so be it --- but it is out of that group of one-console owners that the fanboy wars began.

I consider both consoles to be indispensable (it used to be three consoles but the Wii did not sustain my interest.) But that's because i prefer a both/and world to an either/or world.

Any serious gamer is likely to own both major consoles...

I'm getting the 360 version (installed on my HD) partly because of other gamers on the Live Network that I enjoy sharing gaming experiences with (even with single player games) -- and because I like using the Rockstar Social Club services (used it often as a reference during Red Dead Redemption) and would like to have access from day one.

I continue to have misgivings about Sony's Online operat...

According to VGChartz, for the week ending April 30 --
PS3 sold roughly 100,000 more units of Mortal Kombat than XBox 360.

However, the XBox 360 sold about 100,000 more units of Portal 2 than
did the PS3.

for whatever it may be worth: in terms of earnings, it looks like a wash.

I've read quite a few of the User reviews at Metacritic and would say they are fairly well written --- and give the new game rather low ratings. Currently standing at 4.1 with 475 reviewers participating.

Perhaps Bioware is guilty of shooting the messenger(s) because it doesn't like the message. (If 100 people say more or less the same thing, it is not necessarily evidence of spamming: read it like a public opinion poll in which hundreds or thousands of people DO sa...

1,000 pounds is roughly $1,500 US; and this was a debit card on a bank account, not a credit card ---

Debit card purchases are deducted immediately and the balance adjusted. So this story implies that Mum was no more alert about her bank balance than she was about her son's activities. And still you weep for her.

Are you saying that you, too, would not notice such a large sum of money disappearing from your bank account?

The story implies that this mother's debit card was charged over 1,000 pounds in one month (!) and she did not notice as it was happening... ....otherwise she would have realized much earlier, if she examined her bank balance, that she was being billed by XBox Live for numerous purchases.

The fact that Microsoft offer "parental controls" does not mean that MS controls the parents. If someone can't be bother to read the contractual obligations, and can...
