Relax, it isn't hating a game. I don't get why people think reviewers tend to "hate" a game some gamers are enjoying because it didn't review favourably or align with your thoughts on the game. It is ok for people to not like a popular AAA game.

Could of been.

Of course publishers aren't going to say it's gambling, they are beholden to shareholders and only care about money. They will ride the lootbox gravy train as long as possible regardless of damage they're doing to the industry. Even if it gets classified as gambling they will deny it by spouting the usual BS that is helps people with less time progress their game and offering "choice" and "options".

Absolutely meaningless. As if pirates were ever going to pay for a game that isn’t cracked especially at full price. Pirated games doesn’t translate to a loss in sales. It’s a temporary victory until the inevitable.

They'll probably follow the GTA Online method. There was hardly any outcry when you could by shark cards and they are making so much money from it. Keep the single player MT free, but who am I kidding they find some kind of way to add MT into all aspects of the game.

You have no idea how big gacha games are in Japan. It is easy to believe that amount can be spent with people with high income or/and even gambling addiction. It's is the same thing, spinning or pulling for a chance to obtain something of value through luck.

Caught this on SidAlpha's channel a few hours ago. The analyst is just so shortsighted, he is purely going by the numbers and the correlations he is making is baseless to absurd levels. Movies have defined run times and people know what they are paying for and how long the experience will be, other forms of entertainment like books and games we cannot judge their value by the same standard which he stats as value per hour or minute.

Games are interactive forms of entert...

You honestly think governments are going legalize gambling to the underaged!

We heard you the first time!

Because the industry was never going to regulate themselves. This is nothing new, before the days of the ESRB violent games in the industry was the new hot thing when MK released where the government gave the industry an ultimatum, regulate it or we'll do it for you.

Publishers have only themselves to blame bring the scummy loot box/ gambling practice to light.

That is definitely a positive step and publishers only have themselves to blame. I only hope this sets a trend and followed up by other EU countries. But knowing publishers they will find ways or loopholes around loot boxes to keep them in-game via other methods. Blizzard did something similar in China finding a loophole to keep selling loot boxes.

Meanwhile the ESRB did nothing and said it wasn't gambling because I guess they didn't want to go through hassle of hav...

This has been doing the rounds on Reddit.

"I've only ever known EA as an excellent video game company and pioneer of the early home computer games industry. EA has always had my enjoyment as their primary concern and their community involvement is phenomenal.

and in one phrase the dev lost the argument and most of the audience. He was right about one thing, it is highly lucrative and that is the crux of it. When publishers and some devs see how much it is possible to make with loot boxes in f2p titles they want to add that "experience" to their AAA titles in the most blatant cash grab methods possible for a product you have to buy into as well.

No, PS Now is a game service.

Games as a service are titles built around web and online infrastructures to keep their games relevant and for as long as possible. This can include patches, updates, DLC and expansions PS Now is just a service where you can play games from a library which are streamed.

But it’s ok to abuse the loot box system by throwing money at them. Who are they trying to fool with another terrible PR blunder statement!

3034d ago 7 agree0 disagreeView comment

As good as it sounds, it’s temporary. They did say the purchase of crystal will be available at a later date. So they could always go back to some kind of paid virtual currency. I really hope they actually do make positive changes to the game.

EA said it, so it must be true.

3037d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Wouldn't it be great for EA to attend future game conferences to a crowd of constantly booing people non-stop until they finish their presentations or just a constant drowning sound of vuvuzelas just not to hear the BS they say on stage.

I am not sure if he is being generous in his apology, stating it was nothing to do the whole SWBF2 issue but "a general thing"(far too vague). His remarks doesn't make him fit to be a community manager. If he can't separate the trolls from constructive concerns without needing to twitter vent then he should find another line of work.

The timing is too perfect for it not to be about SWBF2.
