But..but it says heavy discounts?
@guyman I know. That's why I said currently. It is exclusive right now. Not for long though. As I've said, great game but don't buy into the hype, it's at best on par with the original reboot, in my opinion not quite as good.
@mark_parch
I enjoyed the game but to be honest I don't think it was as good as the 2013 reboot.
The setting and story were not as good (there was no real sense of mystery or discovery like in TR2013), and the story arc was so similar to the first game it bordered on ridiculous. The weapons are all the same, and as you mention there is just a lot of recycling. It just doesn't feel fresh like the original did.
The graphics are great, but not...
Nice review and a great game. Definitely a prime GOTY contender for 2015 (though I'm a Bloodborne man myself).
I agree with most of your review but think the combat is a weak point. It is fine/serviceable but not particularly fun. The characters, world, exploration, graphics are all top notch though.
Yeah I'd never say no to a demo but this doesn't particularly need one. It is very much the same as TR 2013. If you like the reboot you will like this. If not, this won't change your mind.
Finished it with 80% completion. Did all the Tombs but there are a LOT of collectibles.
Agreed. One of the best exclusives on xbox1 currently, along with Sunset Overdrive.
Great game but not as good as the reboot. 8/10 for ROTTR. 9/10 for TR2013.
Anyone know if this will be on PSVR or is it Oculus exclusive? Timed?
Did you play the 2013 reboot? They were very similar. Not sure how you can say there were no cut and paste elements.
Don't get me wrong, this is still one of my favourite exclusives on xbox1 along with Sunset Overdrive, but it just wasn't as great as I expected it to be.

Konami's response?
Sony banned from attending E3 2016! ;)
It is. I wonder if he will get Del Toro on board and put out a horror game in the vein of PT? Here's hoping.
Indeed. This is BIG news. Can't wait to see what he puts out.
Yes to Tenchu, love that game.
Apart from all the obvious ones(ICO, SOTC, GOW, Ratchet, Jak, BG&E) Marvel Nemesis Rise of the Imperfects is an overlooked gem too.
Bloodborne is my GOTY by a long way. TW3 takes silver, bronze for Fallout 4.
He-Man or Dino Riders would be cool.
That could be cool if they can get Bill Murray on board.
I would like them to try James Bond.
Or for something a bit more obscure Conan The Barbarian.
People have brought this on themselves to a large degree. Square got a taste for episodic content on Life is Strange and now they will try to cram it into all of their games. It is a low risk strategy for them.
I said it from the beginning, don't support episodic content. Wait until the full game is out, then play it. That includes Telltale games and any others.Otherwise you are going to be seeing more and more of this kind of thing.
I think it is just the flow or pacing of the combat. In Bloodborne it is smooth and we'll paced with a good sense of risk and reward, lots of enemy variety and AI, and great bosses. It's just plain fun and I'm still not sick of it after 300+ hours. There is a lot more depth than you have described if you know how to play with tranformation combos, arcane items, various builds of character and weapon.
As I said, I loved The Witcher 3. It took second place for me fo...
