I really, sincerely hope that we are not adding X-Com to this list when it eventually releases. However some games really change things and come out pretty good, like Gauntlet Legends. I lost insane amounts of money to Gauntlet in the arcades and was really nervous about them making it 3D, but it was pretty fun after all.

Tournament organizers will be in a rough spot. I can't imagine having to pay for a full set of gems on every single console at a tournament. They'll either have to ban them all or include them all, it is the only fair way. They can only ban them all if there is an option to enter a fight without having chosen any gems.

Having to watch button checks on a tournament stream takes enough time, I really don't want to watch players select teams, scroll through a hund...

I'd like to see a list of the most fun plats instead of the easiest. Borderlands was fun to plat, and other than beating Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine - Sonic's Ultimate Sega Genesis Collection was a blast. Also, neither of those two were terribly difficult to plat.

Edit: I'm surprised that Spare Parts isn't on this list. It is a downloadable game on PSN that I picked up on sale for $5. The plat was very, very fast and easy to achieve.

He mentioned being "outgunned" when starting out fresh a week after release, but he didn't mention anything about how the MP scoring rewards teamwork and support actions like placing mines to take out vehicles, healing teammates and such. I thought that one of the draws to the B3 MP section was that you can be important to your team and help win the match even without huge kill streaks if you are helping in other ways.

I'm pretty new to the FPS genre as a whole, why do you prefer BF3 over MW3 for the single player campaign? I'm trying to decide which one to get and it's tough just based on a couple videos and screen shots. It's a tight winter schedule for games and my wallet will likely not survive!

I think another thing that the author didn't touch on is that the old games where death meant starting over are still here. With so much culture and history available on the internet these days the games where death is meaningful are still around both old and new (Dark Souls).

The landscape and culture (if I can use that phrase) of gaming has changed and circumstances around death and expectations of gamers have changed as well.

I'm not against a d...

I've really been enjoying this one. I can tell I'm going to lose some long blocks of time just designing better and better defenses.

2 tips that helped me in the beginning: 1) Don't try to play the Monk solo. 2) Don't be afraid to bring out your other characters and use their defenses, but don't forget to drop your mana before swapping back to your main character.

Who is the character on there next to Ezio? He looks a bit like a Van Helsing or Chakan with his big Pilgrim looking hat w/ buckle.

I thought that first purchaser code was shadier than Crenshaw Pete with a coat hanger!

Unless he's in the military and deployed. They don't always get a choice.

Some of those look a lot like Deus Ex glitches. Falling through the ground, enemy AI getting stuck on random tiny things, inability to climb/scale something at shoulder level - all of those in Deus Ex as well.

Can you climb a chain-link fence in Batman? You couldn't in Deus Ex, I thought that was strange. I can punch through a foot of reinforced concrete, but a chain link fence was a hard barrier.

I enjoyed AA, but the melee combat was my least favorite part.

I do agree that basic thugs really lasted too long in combat and got up from beatings that would KO anyone short of a main character had it happened in the comics, TV shows, or movies. Batman should learn a few stealth take downs from Adam Jensen, those thugs never got back up!

I was hoping for something a little different in AC, but not expecting it. The DLC and first-purchaser code problems ...

He's wrong, the Catwoman content is not bonus, and it never was advertised as bonus before two weeks ago. It's not bonus even on the most basic level, trophies/gamer score. If you don't have her content you will miss Riddler icons and not be able to complete the game to 100% and earn all the cheevos or the plat. If the content was truly bonus, it wouldn't be part of completing the game to 100%.

His opinion is "unique" (as he says) because others d...

Yes, but if changing the time manually does not unlock it, then you will have to d/c from the internet and figure out how to change the internal clock. I'm not sure which clock the trophy syncs with.

The pre-order bonus should be a voucher for $10 off Super SFxTekken, or a bonus on your trade-in value when the next "update" comes out. Looks like more 1,2,3, launcher nonsense.

I'm disappointed that you can't disable the gem system. There should be an option for that at least in friendly lobbies if not arcade mode or ranked.

I know, but at least for PS3 games Blockbuster BARELY rents games. They shipped me a non-working copy of Sacred 2 in June, and once notified said they'd immediately send a replacement. Three months later and I still didn't have a copy of Sacred 2.

Many of the PS3 games have a wait of at least 2 weeks or longer both new and old. For example Mortal Kombat had a 2 week wait, while games like Vanquish, Castlevania, Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, Fist of the North Star, Dyn...

I just left Blockbuster Online and went to Netflix, and I'm glad I did. The game selection at Blockbuster is terrible. New games are usually on a 2-4 week wait, older games can be longer.

Their new release blu rays often had a wait from day one.

Netflix stock is superior in both blu ray and games.

Looks and sounds pretty fun. It seems like most of the issues in the review could be fixed without too much trouble and a single patch. Adding a visual counter for the vault burn, offering an online manual, or retyping skill/XP tree descriptions.

Dungeon Defenders and Payday this week probably. Okabu and that Rocketchicken game next week possibly.

I felt like the "first purchaser code" for Batman was a step towards "something much uglier". Locking out about 10% of the offline, single player content and an entire character is going a bit far. To me that felt like the next step past the basic "online pass".

Beyond that would be something like they have in that Elemental Card Monster game they just released on PSN in the US a few weeks back. To play a ranked, online card battle against an ...
