I'm saving my cash for the next, big map pack. They're calling it "Black Ops 2".
I'm in for multiplayer double XP, no interest in the new maps or spec ops stuff though. I don't think I played enough to get so tired of the current maps I want to buy more. I figure I'll get a whole new "map pack" when CoD:Blops 2 comes out later this year.
I doubt current gen consoles could handle a new engine and still run the game at 60fps. Save the new engine for the next gen and just do some new maps, new perks, a bit of new art and sell it for $40 new.
That would be my plan, but i'm not a video game exec and my opinion doesn't matter. I just hope it turns out to be fun.
I still have a lot of fun competing online. Everything from high scores in Pac-Man DX and various pinball games all the way up to the more competitive FPS and fighting game genres.
The blog entry seems to be more heavily focused on the FPS genre, but online competitive MP can be Magic: The Gathering, Hoard, or even Mahjong.
No matter the game style most people get sick of the competitive play if you can't learn to enjoy the dirt, even if the other guy gl...
I wish more companies had their own used game sales programs. Likely these programs could be designed and run by people who are NOT working on designing the game itself, so it won't detract from devs polishing the game.
Maybe call a couple car companies to see how they are able to take a used car from any company and turn it into profit. A Mazda dealer bought my old Dodge Neon and sold me a new Mazda. I'm sure there is some arrangement so that they will profit from...
Based on durability issues with consoles, I really do not want a console integrated into my HDTV set. If either one breaks, they both do. I can't imagine how much they charge to have it all shipped off for a repair.
The only way to do this properly would be to have the two items integrated at a port, so you could pop out the PS3/PS4 unit without affecting the TV function.
I'll probably spend my money and time on Borderlands 2 towards Q3. Maybe I should just order the most expensive version of Borderlands 2 and send a pic of the receipt to ShinCapcom. "I have the money, but I'm choosing to spend it elsewhere because you guys are jerkfaces."
It's almost as good as the Atari Lynx. ;-)
Jealousy is a stinky cologne.
I've still got my patches from Activision (Atari 2600). They USED to be real "trophies" issued if you sent in a Polaroid. The patches got ironed on the backpack to show off in school. Frogger, Laser Blast, etc.
If you weren't at least a little affected, you wouldn't have taken the effort to comment.
So, they aren't really making a NEW ending, just fleshing out some of the epilogues and trying to offer a little more clarity as to the fates of the characters, races, and such.
Why would that be considered losing? I think losing would be putting out more paid DLC and ignoring the requests of that many fans.
Did that fan donation campaign really raise around $35,000 for charity to get Bioware to take them seriously? Impressive if true.
The movie selection is not nearly as good as Netflix. They do have a good selection of TV shows and seasons in HD. I'd say check it out, but if you are more a movie buff you'l probably stick with Netflix.
Get out of my head! I thought the same thing.
+1 bub vote. In a word my immediate thought was, "geocities".
Trying to get people to avoid MW3 on 4/20? I think many people would be at risk of forgetting about the protest and firing up MW3 after burning one down.
I have to say I bought this on sale from amazon for $40 (new) and I'm really enjoying much more than I thought. I've even added a few friends to the PSN list for new SSX rivals to race against. My only disappointment was that I can't to head-to-head races easily. I wish they had a lobby system like many other racing games for some of the online things. I like the Explore and Global Event modes, but I wish I could set up some real time races with friends instead of having to c...
My post wasn't meant to "tell the whole story", just to illustrate that it is entirely possible that we are not paying too much for games these days.
PS- they made defective carts all the time too.
The low O2 run and the freezing runs are tough without their equipment. I didn't have any trouble completing the runs w/o a headlamp or armor though. I think finishing the wingsuit DD without one will require really precise lines and good timing of boost use and jumps.
My Sega Genesis games were more expensive than my PS3 games when you factor in inflation. Back in the mid 90's I bought Streets of Rage new for $64.99. That's a current price damn near $95 adjusted for inflation. Take the normal $60 tag today, add a little DLC to that, and it's not that outrageous when you compare the cost of games 20 years ago to today's prices.
Yes to all your questions. The arrow just shows the entrance to the bonus stage. You will need to S-rank that area for the plat.
