I agree with the article - but the title is wrong. I thought initially that someone was trolling Valve.
Title should be "Please stop trolling, Valve". The comma makes a huge difference. See the difference here: "Stop clubbing baby seals" and "Stop clubbing, baby seals". In one people are hurting the seals, in the other the seals are doing too much partying at night clubs.
I think they did a wonderful job blending and balancing mechanics so one can have fun the first hour they play, and still be learning after 50 hours.
If you get a chance, browse through the SC5 guide from Future Press. It's absolutely amazing, best guide I've seen for a fighting game. The section about the Training mode should have been part of the official instruction manual.
A collection trophy you follow a map for would NOT be one of my proudest trophies. Try the gold for completing every trial for every character in Super Street Fighter 4. I'd also say someone should be proud of a plat on Demon's Souls or Dark Souls.
This list is crappy.
Neither weird nor shocking.
I disagree with the review. Most fans of fighting games will agree that the story and arcade modes are not nearly as important as the online experience. I've not had any matches with a connection rating of "3" or better feel laggy at all.
The training mode is actually extremely deep. What you probably meant in the article is that you wanted more documentation about HOW to use the training mode. It is one of the best training modes in recent years, but that a...
I enjoyed this one along with the TMNT game and Aliens Vs Predator. There was a similar game, but with the D&D brand at an arcade about an hour away. I liked that once because you could continue your progress by putting in your initials and birth date when you started.
I can't wait to get home from work and play this! I'm hoping the increased speed I've been seeing in the videos lends itself to a faster and smoother fight than previous SC installments. They were awesome, but I always felt like the fights were just a little too segmented or jerky (not sure how to describe it).
Kind of like comparing old kung fu movies to very new choreography - the new stuff is much faster and more fluid whereas the older kung fu choreography w...
I'm not sure if I'll ever play this one. Certainly not any time soon. If it drops to $20, I'll buy it. 13 and 14 really turned me off the entire franchise.
When I install a game, its the first time I play it - NOT the third. There won't be any game data in the flash memory when most people install games and you won't get any real benefit during initial install. The lowered install time was due to that being the third time they popped the disc in and installed.
Don't buy this thinking you are going to cut down install times. It will help with scene or GT 5 track loading (after you've loaded that stuff at least ...
The plat is indeed a bitch. Probably a 9/10 difficulty (Wipeout HD being a 10 and Hanna Montana being a 1). The online based trophies could take up to 100 hours to complete without boosting. Hopefully the game being free will bolster the online community for those who want to trophy hunt.
Upcoming DLC is rumored to add a few Daedric artifacts. You may still have a chance to get 15 of them even if you missed a couple already. Just wait for the DLC and see if they add a few more.
I'd like more game play and less running down hallways. I'd also like to see better storytelling. Their story was great, but it really suffered in the execution. I agree, it was underwhelming. At least I got a hefty discount on the wireless 7.1 PS3 headset when I bought them together.
I returned it 48 hours after purchase. I thought I bought a completed game. The texture pop and streaming problems gave me terrible motion sickness. I was glad I didn't suffer through all the nausea and headaches just for a craptastic ending.
I didn't buy R3 because the demo was just average and if I couldn't get a sample of the MP, then I don't purchase. The campaign is very short, so if I'm going to get a good 50/60 in value, the MP should keep me entertained for a while. If I can't demo the part of the game that i'll play for 80% of the time, then I don't purchase if the campaign is just average.
I've never seen this happen, but they could always discount online passes for a week to drum up some interest. Everyone has a price point and i'm sure that if they offered the online pass to used purchasers for $5 instead of $10, more people would go for it.
Why not have a sale on the online passes sometime? I'd be nice to have a sale (for example) 90 days after release for online pass using games.
I hope this isn't an actual fighting game like MK, MvC, SF etc. There isn't enough precision with the move to have any kind of competitive game, which is what keeps fighting games going.
If this is an action-rpg, then it might not fail immediately. I'm more concerned about the multiplayer parts than the genre. You can have an incredible game, but if the net code is garbage, then nobody will want to play it no matter what genre it is.
No, the next best 3rd person shooter will be Starhawk.
The Wipeout HD plat... can ... not... do. Too hard.
This checkpoint system sounds like Demon's Souls right after release, but without the fun combat.
We'll see how dead it is after release of the first month's numbers for Iron Wolf.
