They are 100% waiting until after the Xbox showcase for their next drop. Sony has routinely let Microsoft go first the past couple generations and it is quite effective
Sony has already released 10 quality exclusives this gen in 18 months. Microsoft: 3 (and one of them is a completely unfinished game).
That state of play was purely a 3rd party showing. It has nothing to do with their exclusives and their heavy hitters both announced and unannounced. Sony will have another show this year (probably September) for that. Regardless: Stray, God of War, Final Fantasy XVI, PlayStation VR2, Horizon: Call of the Mountain, Resident Evil Village VR...
Ada’s outfit is so much more appropriate to the situation. The showing skin theme of earlier video game female characters was always ridiculous and out of place
Improved character models for sure. Would have preferred Sagat and Vega over a couple of these…but a pretty solid roster with the original world warriors
Considering this show was not meant to show off exclusives (other than VR), why would you expect crazy announcements here? Sony was clear on what this show would be…3rd party titles and PSVR2.
Perhaps you’re waiting for the PlayStation showcase where big things are announced.
GOW was never supposed to be at this state of play. 3rd party and VR was specifically described in the notes
This wasn’t meant to be an exclusives / first party showcase other than VR and FF16 thrown in. The description specifically said third party and VR.
Sony’s big show is coming.
This is definitely the least excited I’ve been for a street fighter game. Can’t wait for the next Mortal Kombat reveal though.
Eonjay - Exactly, PSVR2 is a HUGE jump from PSVR and could be a very unique experience for most gamers. This is not a Meta Quest wireless headset. This is a true next-gen experience from a VR standpoint graphically and also from a sensory standpoint with haptics in the headset as well as the adaptive triggers/haptics in the controllers. The controllers alone completely change what this setup can allow for types of games compared to the move controllers from the original PSVR. There are no...
gamers.
This would be a proper move by Sony from a business standpoint. Sony knows Microsoft has nothing for this year and 2023 will be a content heavy year for MS. PSVR2 could drown out some of the positive noise from the Microsoft camp in the first half of next year (pending it's actually good of course).
My game of the summer.
Ahh yes because everyone has gaming PC’s. It’s such a minority group.
This really better blow minds lol
One of the worst campaigns, so no.
“Gotta future proof. I'm sure Blockbuster folk said the same thing about Netflix when it first came on the scene. Business models and consumer expectations change over time.”
The difference here is overall convenience. You had to drive to the store and browse then purchase get a game/movie from them and drive home. You have free access from your house to browse and purchase on PS Network. If someone really wants a game and it is of quality and has great reviews they wil...
Great game but man, their engines are unoptimized disasters. Why does this game look like Operation Flashpoint? lol
You can literally get a series S anywhere and cannot get a PS5. Considering the S numbers are bulked into the sales numbers I would say it doesn’t bode well for Microsoft. I know three people myself who bought a Series S simply because they couldn’t get a PS5 and two years into next gen have gotten the itch for some sort of new console. COVID / the shortage has benefitted Microsoft short term and they’re still last.
“New UI doesn't make it better. The PS5 UI is complete crap and a pain to navigate. Xbox SX UI is the way it is because it makes more sense and is much easier to navigate. It may be preference, but PS5 is just confusing to look at until you know where to go. Give someone who doesnt know the UI a controller and ask them to do anything. It's confusing as all hell!”
The XB UI is 100% messier than Sony’s. The Xbox home button isn’t even responsive and it’s the most impo...
